What's the thing that causes the pain?
We all ask ourselves this question and we all have so many different answers.
For some it's not feeling enough, maybe it's our childhood pain or our relationships or lack thereof one.
For some it's the loss of someone, a parent, a friendship, a lover.
Some people just give up, too much pain, too much hurt and sorrow in their lives but we all have pain that we hold on to.
So let me ask you again. What is the thing that causes pain?
The depth of grief you felt with all the losses is because of the depth of love you feel, and as long as you're alive you get to feel and you get to do something about it.
Yes, the pain we feel is because we love so hard, we care so much and that is why we hurt so bad. I personally know this as I am struggling with the fact that not everyone has my heart. Not everyone is going to do what I will do and I have to let go of my own expectations of them. They are not me, they will not always do what I think is the right thing to do, and that is hard for me.
We all know that everything changes all the time when you're alive and yet all the time we fight the change. We cling on to what we have and what we know, like that's how it should always be.
We are so fearful of change, afraid to step out into the unknown. I was stuck in fear for 24 years, all those years, I think about that I wasted on fear.
We are stuck in our ego's, allowing pride to take over, not letting us do the right thing, keeping us stuck just to be right, over forgiveness.
We fight the change and some of us go kicking and screaming into it as if life will be over if we do change.
We waste precious time and energy on something that can be so amazing. Change is good, it's rebirth, it's a chance to reinvent yourself, to start over. So why are we so afraid of it? How would the captain's so many hundreds of years ago found new places with the old ideas and fears that the earth was flat? What about the Wright Brothers? People can't fly, yet they believed that somehow we could.. They overcame their fears, they stepped out in the darkness, into the unknown to say even though we may be afraid we are going to chance it to see what's really out there.
I know so many women that have been hurt, have been cheated on and now want nothing to do with men. They shut down for fear of being hurt again, they cut their lives off to love for fear. I always say love is worth the risk. I've had my heart broken too many times to count but life without love is not worth living. So yes, I will keep trying and yes, I want to get remarried because I have faith and I am fearless even though there is a chance of pain.
In this life we all will have pain, and loss and sorrows, that's life. Unfortunately no one escapes that and no one gets out alive so we must make the most of it. We must let our fear go, we must let go of our pain, we must forgive and move on. The best lesson we can learn is that every day you grow and change, just like the trees, just like nature. That's what happens like it or not, so you might as well embrace it and stop wasting time.
So today my friends remember we are not guaranteed any amount of time here and the last year in this pandemic showed us that loud and clear, so why waste it? Why waste one precious second of our lives on fear?
Such a waste of life fighting change, and resisting the pain.
