We are more alike then you realize

Hump day Treadmill Treats

We are more alike than you realize

I am always telling you that we are more alike than you realize. That yes, we all have issues with our kids, that we all don't have perfect marriages, we just pretend we do.That we are financially struggling, that we made bad choices in our life's, that we aren't always happy and positive.

Yes, we all have the same issues, we want to be loved, we want to be needed, to be appreciated, to hear someone say it's going to be alright, to hear, you did a great job or your not alone.

We all want what is best for our families, we want to be able to travel and not worry about bills, we want to have a relationship with our maker, we all want to live a peaceful and joyous life.

We are the same, whether we are straight, gay, trans, black, white, Asian, Muslim, Buddhist or Christian, yes, even the Democrats and the Republicans, we all want the same things.

So why is it so hard to connect with others? Why do we have boundaries?
Why is it that we have an, us vs them mentality?

Why was it such a big deal when I became friends with Mr.Con Artist then wife? I didn't know he was married.
She and I were in the same situation, both women that were played by a dog, why wouldn't we be brought together by what we went through? Why couldn't we be friends? Hey he did have good taste with women...Hello he picked us!

I speak to almost all of my ex's, why not? They were good men... (Okay with the exception Mr.Con Artist & my ex husband who won't talk to me, even though I am willing to try to be friends for our kids)
It just didn't work out, doesn't mean we need to be enemies, now.

How about your current significant's ex's? Can you be friends with them? Sometimes they can teach you things, some good...maybe what didn't work for them, that may work for you and yes, sometimes even the bad, things you may have not notice or did and need confirmation of things you already had a suspicion about.

Maybe that person at your gym, never smiles because she went through a horrible marriage or is still going through it. Maybe that person who you thought was snobby is really just shy and doesn't like to talk to people.

You never know how someone might be so like you, may feel the same things, fear the same fears, cry the same tears at night, you have no idea...

So today my friends remember we are more the same then we are different, let's take the time to realize this, reach out, talk to people, you will be amazed at what they will tell you and how much you actually do have in common and that we are more alike then you realized.
