Love is love
Love is love; it comes in all regions, colors, and sexual orientations
Once again, during this Christmas season, I was on my Christmas sappy movie binge. So when Netflix suggested their new movie Single all the way, I was like sure, bring on the next sappy movie.
Well, I wasn't expecting this movie, but I was so glad that mainstream television is finally catching up with the real world more and more.
So if you haven't seen it, it's a Christmas love story about two gay men, the 2021 version, where their whole family is good with their sons sexual orientation. I know, imagine that? Unfortunately, it's still a fairy tale for many. Anyway, he is always picking the losers and getting his heart broken, so yes. I could relate. His latest heart break was when he found out that his handsome doctor's boyfriend was married and had kids!
So he needed to go home and lick his wounds, but his family was always on him about finding someone, so he roped his best friend to go with him to pretend that they finally fell in love. While home, he realizes what he misses and what's most important in his life. Even though he had a great career in Los Angeles, he hated it. He missed his family and his small town. Of course, you know what happens in the end, hello, it's a Christmas movie! He also realizes that he had always been in love with his best friend and that he felt the same way, too.
By the end of the movie, I was boo hooing, so happy that they got together. Now, did it matter that they were gay? If they were a heterosexual couple, an interacial couple, or an interfaith couple, I would have been crying as well because love is love.
It doesn't matter what color you are, what religion, and what your sexual orientations are. Love is love. Why is that so hard to see? Why is it such a big deal? Why are people still hating on this in 2021? Get over it already, live, and let live.
I remember my girlfriend always saying that if God sent her a little green man, and he was the man for her, she would be proud to love a little green man. That always cracked me up, but it's true; you don't know who you will fall for. They may be younger, older, fatter, skinnier, taller, or shorter than you usually pick.
They may be totally opposite of what you like or were looking for, but it's all about that soul connection. Either you have it or you don't but boy when you have it, all bets are off about your ideal person you had in your head. Love is two souls reconnecting, and it cares nothing about sexual orientations, your colors or your religion it cares about your heart, knowing this person, feeling like home when your with this person, this is what love is.
So today my friends, I will tell you that while watching this movie, all I thought about was how I hoped that I would find a love like that. That I knew what was most important in my life, love, and family, this is what I took away from this movie.
I ask you all to remember that love is love; it comes in all shapes and sizes, all colors, and all sexual orientations.
Love is love, love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy; it does not boast; it is not proud. It does not dishonor others; it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails”
