Made to be greater

Made to be greater

So, since the pandemic, I haven't gone to church. Yes, I watched it online but I have to tell you it is not the same.
Being in the house of God is something different, to be with other believers, to feel the holy spirit moving, to feel and be moved to tears while you're there, is an unbelievable feeling.

So, being able to go back this Sunday, the first Sunday of the New Year is incredible. I have been in this church for the last 10 years, and every year since I've been here, I have done the first of the year fast.
This is where we give our first week to God. We do the Daniel fast, we go to church every day, and we refine from social media, television, and  secular music.

We take this first week to give thanks for all he has done for us, for keeping us safe and healthy, for being there for us during our darkest days. This is our gift to him to start off the New Year by putting him first.

This year is the year of transition; we are in a transition in this world. What is going to happen? What are we going to change? Are we going to hold on to our faith?

We are made to be greater,  to transform, to become all that God made us to be.
Even though people broke you, even though you have failed, even though circumstances in your life have knocked you down, God has more for you than you could ever imagine.

If you're thinking I've been waiting, I've been believing, but nothing has happened. I understand we have all felt that way, but sometimes it's not your time yet. Yet… the key word, yet… it may not be on your time, but it's always on God's time.
Abram waited 99 years before God told him of his plans of becoming the kings of nations. Sarah was 99 before she gave birth, and you better trust and believe that wasn't on her time, but God wanted to show her that anything is possible, even the impossible.

I know how you are feeling. I have an annotating over my life, and yes, I hold on to that tiny mustard seed of faith even when I can't see it happening. Even when I cry out when God? When? Even when I feel like, are you listening? But I know that you are never too old, it's never too late as long as you believe. As long as you have faith.

So today, my friends remember this is a year of transition; you are made to be greater. You need to hold on even when things are going crazy around you and the world. Never forget that nothing is impossible with God, and you were made to be great. So start this new year off with faith, with gratitude and a determination to be the change you want to see.
