Dating and texting in today's world 

Okay, I grew up in another generation, so dating was completely different.  

We talked to each other. I can remember speaking to my high school sweetheart for hours on the phone even falling asleep 

with the phone in my hand sometimes. This went on for years with us.

Now texting, is the best form of miscommunication ever. You're lucky if you get to actually "talk" to someone you like. It's crazy yet people seem okay with some bullshit good morning and good night texts and that's it. 

I always say if I wanted a pen pal I'd write to someone in prison. Hello! I am looking to form a relationship here and this will not cut it.

You need to put some effort into it. Show your interest, and try to step it up. I get that many women may be okay with this type of communication as they feel that some interest is better than none. Sorry, not happening for me….no, not sorry. I got a life and either you want to be in it or there's the door, don't let it hit you in the ass on the way out.

Yes, this is very tough, and I get it but…

A. I'm a New Yorker 

And B. I don't have time to play around, I'm in the second half of my life here.

See, I don't give you 50 percent, I give 100 percent, and if you're not giving that 100% back, I don't need you. Yes, I am that serious. Any relationship is based on getting to know that person, who they are, and what they believe in. Their faith, their values, the core of their soul and trust and believe, a lousy good morning and good night text is not cutting it.

You need to spend time with that person, and ask them questions because we all know anyone can put on a good front for a while. It's after speaking to them that you learn who they truly are. My girlfriend always said the crazy doesn't come out until after three months and lord was she right.

So today my friends I would love to know if you are okay with this. Do you speak on the phone, how much is the bare minimum for you? How often do you speak in person? What is your draw-a-line in the sand for you?

I want to know the consensus out there on this topic.

We all have a line that we will put up with, mine may be different than yours but we all know what we are willing to put up with or not.

I want you to always remember that at any time we can change, like I say at the end of every blog be the change you want to see
