When the student is ready the teacher will appear

This is such a true saying, sometimes we are not ready to learn the lessons we need to, sometimes we are not open enough to receive. But when we are aligned up with the universe, with God, with whatever you want to call it, when we are ready, what we need will come.

I have been on this journey of change for the last 6 years, trying to at first find my voice again, then trying to answer the question we all come to "Is this all there is in life?"

From there I asked what is my purpose? What was I meant to do here on earth? When I realized my purpose, the next question was "Where am I suppose to go from here and then how do I get there?"

I have always said I have envisioned my life, free from my verbally abusive marriage, I envisioned my home, my business, all of this. At one point I started to envision motivional speaking, even though I was afraid of public speaking. I envisioned myself speaking in front of large audiences, I even envisioned myself on The Women of Faith tour.

Yes, I dream big, why not, who says you can't? You are the only one that holds yourself back, dream big, then dream bigger!

This last weekend I was blessed with a weekend retreat with a dear friend to the AmondaRose Igoe, Empowered Speaker Event, which was a 3 day motivational speakers conference.

She was amazing, it was like a motivational speaker for dummies class. She walked you step by step on what to do, how to do it and what not to do. She broke it down with her laughter, her bigger than life personality and her warmth that made you feel like, yes, you can do this.

She also had us connect with each other, reach out, step out of our boxes which made it so much better as we made friends with people, we learned things about people we would have never guessed. That is what she did, she taught us to connect. We all have a story, we can all connect to our audience, we have to just be vulnerable, to be open, to be our authentic selves.

She made us think, gave us courage and taught us the easy steps to take this from a dream to a career. I realized that it wasn't as hard as I thought, l have the ability to connect to people, I have the story, now I have the tools to do this, really do this.

I have been to many events, spent thousands of dollars, hearing speakers, taking classes and I have to tell you, she was by far was the best, this wasn't a sales pitch, just trying to sell you the next big thing. No, this genuine women cared about teaching you all she knew and you felt it, you knew it.

I have come away from this knowing that yes, I am ready, this is what I want my next step to be.
I envisioned myself on stage like her, teaching others how to change their lives.

My writing will always be my first passion, but to actually be able to connect in person, that is my gift and this is the next obvious step.
So today my friends, this student was definitely ready for this teacher to appear.

My immense gratitude, to you AmondaRose, for being the teacher I needed when I needed it.
