Count your blessings not your losses

As I sit here listening to the sounds of running water, overlooking the trees and mountains of my home town, I am once again grateful.

I am grateful that I have friends that I can always count on, that know everything about me and still love me.

I am grateful that I could be here to say my final goodbye to one of my best friends, that I got to see people I hadn't seen in years and others I speak to on a weekly basis.

I am grateful that on this week 4 years ago I got my freedom and I have never looked back.
I am grateful for all of my friends, my family and especially my girls, who I love with all my heart.

I am grateful that I found God again and he brought me to a wonderful church and gave me an amazing church family.

And even though I continue to go through storms and I have lost so many people that I loved, even though I've hit rock bottom, got up and hit it again, even though I've cried enough tears to fill a lake, I can still sit here and be grateful.

They say that being grateful even for the small stuff brings more joy into your life and I know that is true.

I know that life will never be perfect, I know I will lose more people I love, that there will be more storms but I am okay...
I will survive and I will become stronger. I refuse to let heartache, disappointment or trials  get me down, I am a fighter, this is what I do, I will not let it harden my heart or change the way I see people.

I will keep on loving and giving no matter how many times I get hurt because this is how God made me, I am here to be the light for others, I am here so that someone may say...
"If she can do it, so can I"
I am here to be an overcomer in the face of defeat.

So today my friends remember as bad as it gets, as the storms come in and you feel like you can't go on remeber to stop and count your blessings, not your losses because you never know who might be looking up to you.
