There are no gifts I needed this weekend, nothing I could open that would make me happier. You see because I already have all the gifts money could never buy....
I have the love of my God, the laughter from my girls, I am blessed with our health,when so many weren't. I am lucky to have family and friends who are always there for me.
I have a purpose for my life and a gift to share with others.
I have an incredible circle of friends that are like family to me. I have gratitude and I want to be a blessing to others.
I have found an inner peace and joy you can never get from a store.
This year more than any other, I am grateful, for it could have been another way. I know so many people that lost so many loved ones, that can't pay for their homes, who are hungry and there is not a day that I don't know "There before the grace of God goes I"
As we opened a few small, thoughtful gifts, as we cooked together singing Christmas songs and ate together laughing and being grateful, this was the perfect Christmas gift for me. This was what Christmas is meant to be, filled with love and joy, giving thanks to God for his ultimate present, his son, Jesus.
Yes, we all must think this and know that it is only God's grace that has gotten us through all of this.
I know we all feel the hustle and bustle of the holidays, we are all stressed and worried about getting it all done. We want to make sure we buy the "perfect" presents that will make up for all year long. We make ourselves crazy with worry, about looking good, cooking all the food, our homes looking just right and how people will see us. But it's not about that, Christmas is a time to reflect on the gifts you already have, on the real meaning...the meaning of love. This is the day God gave us his greatest gift, his son to show us what undeniable love was.
It was so that we may pass that love on, so that we may be grateful of all the gifts we do already have in our lives. So that we may be happy right now, no matter what situation you're in, to know that you are grateful that it's not another way.
So today my friends know that no gifts could ever compare to these, Remember it's not about the gifts and how much you spent, it's not about the worrying if it will all be perfect, it's not about who will say what about you, it's about the priceless gifts you already have, the gift that you are already blessed.
**I know this is a touch of year so I will be putting this number out there for all that needs it...I been there and I know how dark it may seem especially during the Holiday season, there is help, it will get better...I am living proof of
