Blaming everyone else
We all know someone out there that blames everyone else for their life, for their troubles, for all their problems and that someone, may even be you.
You are steadily complaining that everything is wrong because of what happened in your life. I was poor, my parents were abusive, my dad's a drunk, or I was in a horrible marriage, blah, blah blah...insert your sob story here. Yes, I know that sounds harsh and it is but it is also the truth. We all have a sob story, but that doesn't make us, that doesn't define us, it is what got us to where we are today, that's all.
Td Jakes has a great quote:
"You can't drive your car looking in the rear view mirror. Your rear view mirror is for telling you, you have passed something, that's why it's smaller. The front windshield is large so you can see what's ahead of you"
That is how I live my life, I don't let my past define me, I am not a rape victim or a victim of verbal abuse, no, I am a survivor. I don't say I can't do this or that because I was once in a horrible place and because of that I can't or won't get over it.
I wrote a book The Blessing in Disguise, and I called it that because even with all that happened to me, I consider it a blessing, It might have not felt it then but I now know it definitely was. It made me who I am today, the strong, confident woman who is not afraid, who is definitely a fighter and is so very grateful for everything I have now.
Life breaks down like this,10 percent is about what happens to you and 90 percent is what you do about it.
My life is not perfect, I get depressed just read last week's blog if you don't believe me. I am human, I hurt, I get my heart broken, I make mistakes and I've had a lot, a lot of shit that happened to me along the way but I continue to look on the bright side. I continue to look for lessons, to own my shit, to take control of what I did and change things.
I will never blame my past on why I can or cannot do something, in fact I Thank it for the pain. I wouldn't change a damn thing in my life, I wouldn't take away one ounce of the pain because that pain made me who I am. I am a fighter, never giving up, constantly getting up after being knocked down, this is the lessons it taught me.
Now would I have liked to learn them quicker? Absolutely but that was my own hard headedness, my ego that made me have to learn some lessons over and over. I wasn't ready to learn, I wanted it my way, I didn't trust God and his process but that had nothing to do with what I went through. There is a difference and you need to know that.
So today my friends, do something! Stop complaining, get up and change.
Get excited about your life, stop complaining. Go out and find your purpose,do what you love to do, step out of faith, let go of your fear, stop blaming everyone else and step up...it's your life, you need to live it large and stop blaming everyone else.
