I can't believe people are actually watching these shows, especially women. I was flipping through the channels this past weekend and I glanced up and The real Housewives of New York city was on. If you know me or follow me you know I don't watch much TV. There are a few shows I've been watching for forever but normally I never even turn the TV on in my house.

So I am not up to all the latest bullshit reality shows that somehow invaded the airwaves in the last decade.

Well, now I know why I don't watch this crap. I can't believe these grown ass "women'' and I use that term lightly as these aren't real women by any means, are acting like this on television.

These are spoiled, petty, backstabbing little girls pretending to be "women" Are you serious? They lie, they cheat, they talk so bad about each other. They only care about their money and their declining looks. 

I hope to God that young women out there that are watching these shows don't think that these are what they are supposed to grow up to become otherwise we are in serious trouble here. Real women encourage one another. Real women straighten each other's crowns. We are there for one another in good times and bad. We are happy for each other even if we may not have what we want, we are glad that our friends at least got it.

I remember when I was still in the depths of my abusive marriage, my best friend who was also in a horrible marriage found the strength to leave finally. I was as happy for her as if it was myself. Even though I wasn't strong enough to leave, I was beyond happy for her that she was. That is when you know you truly love someone, when you put their happiness over your own. I wasn't jealous, I didn't talk bad about her, I wasn't petty or bitter like so many of these reality "stars" act out there. I was genuinely happy for her.

And that brings me to another point, Bitch what do you have to complain about? You live in a mansion, get free shit all the time, you have money and fame and you're still a miserable...bitch...really? 

Get a real life, how about a single mom's life where you don't know how you're going to pay your bills or feed your kids. How about you bust your ass at a job you can't stand 12 hours a day to come home and do homework while you're cooking and then are still cleaning up and doing laundry at midnight. Give me a frigging break with your hard life. You know nothing about the real world. Real housewives, my ass!

You wouldn't know a sink or mop if you fell over it.

I will tell you what a real woman is, when your single mom friends are struggling like you but you take the 20 dollars you've been saving and give it to them to buy groceries, that's when you're a real woman.

When you put God first, when you help out your neighbors, when you have little and share that little with others, that is a real woman.

When your children come before your botox and your fancy dinner parties to impress the Jones's or your latest man.

That's when you're a real woman.

When you smile during the day and cry out to God for help at night. When you'll do anything for your friends and family, even after you've been screwed over time and time again. That's when you're a real woman.

When you have no one to depend on but you still do it on your own day after day because you have to, that's a real woman.

So today my friends and whoever is watching these bullshit shows, these are not real women of anything.

These are self centered, ungrateful,  spoiled little girls bitching about what most of us dream about having and yet are still not grateful for it.

Grow up and be a real woman, with a heart and soul, a real woman who has substance, a real woman who will teach you lessons that mean something. 

Shut off that TV, go visit that elderly neighbor, go see who is in need,  volunteer in your neighborhood, see who is making a difference, no matter how small, find that woman and learn from her, it is then you will find a real woman, because these are The "Real" Housewives of the world.
