Change Is Inevitable
Change is inevitable
So if you follow me or know me you know that there has been a lot of change in my life in the last 12 years. You would also know when I was at my lowest, God placed someone in my life that I never would have thought would bring me to this church. (Read some old blogs for this unbelievable story)
You see I needed this church and these people as I was drowning. I was in a hole so deep I couldn't get out by myself. This place literally saved my life.
To give back for this gift, I threw myself into volunteering, I did whatever the church asked of me. I was so grateful for this place but especially to this pastor, Bishop Henry Fernandez, that his words week after week were changing me. His words felt like God was speaking through him to me. Each week I needed to be here, each week I was changing and healing. Each week I cried my eyes out, allowing God to use me, and to heal me.
For 11 years I came every Wednesday and Sunday faithfully. I made lifetime friends here, and I changed my way of thinking. Trust and believe, I didn't believe in church before this. But this wasn't about church, this was between me and God for he placed me here.
I learned so many lessons, but the biggest was to forgive my ex-husband for the 24 years of abuse. I learned that God has me and that I had favor from God. There are so many of my "God" stories in my book The Blessing in Disguise Revealed that even to me seem unbelievable. My wonderful church husband used to tell me all the time that I was the most blessed person he knew…God, I miss him and his wisdom. But you see, I learned all of this from coming to this church.
My Bishop is now retiring, things are changing and as I heard this I knew that the time I was here, when I started coming here, was for a reason. That time, for these last 12 years, I needed to be here and I am so grateful it was during the time Bishop was here. I am not sure if the reason for me to be here is still here anymore. I know change is inevitable and I know things will be changing but to me, I am not hearing God anymore here.
I know that it's not about the pastor or the church but about God. Maybe as with friends, it is time to move on. I am listening to God and where he wants to place me. All I know right now is that I was meant to be there while my Bishop was here. That I have become healed and loved during my hardest time and I have the most incredible memories from this place.
So today my friends I am here to tell you that change is inevitable and sometimes we have to move with it. We must learn the lessons and sometimes move on and that's okay. Life is not meant to be stagnant, it's constantly moving and changing and we must move and change with it.
I am so grateful for all that I met here, for this church, and especially to my Bishop Henry Fernandez at the Faith Center. Words could never be enough thanks, I wish you blessings in your change.
