Man Of The People, Mayor Mamdani 

So on this feel good Friday, I would like to acknowledge one of the good ones in government. This makes me feel good especially because I am and always will be a New Yorker. 

So when Zohran Mamdani took office as the mayor of New York City in late 2025, people went crazy. Not because he was the youngest mayor we had in New York city, it was because he was a Muslim. 

Like he would lead us down some religious rabbit hole. Even though he had been in the United States since he was 7 and clearly is a citizen, but just because his religion was different. People spoke all kinds of horrible things about him, how he was going to ruin New York city. Ruin it!

So let's dig into all the “ruin” that he has caused for New York since he has become mayor. 

He has implemented several key policy initiatives which includes:

Universal Child Care Funding: Secured and announced a $1.2 billion investment in universal child care, including expansions for 3-K and full-day, full-year 2-K seats.

Worker Protections and Wage Recovery: Recovered millions of dollars in restitution for workers and small businesses, highlighted by a historic $131 million settlement with DoorDash compensating over 260,000 delivery workers for underpayment.

Tenant Rights and Housing: Delivered tens of millions in repairs, settlements, and judgments on behalf of tenants, alongside introducing housing construction and permitting acceleration plans.

Executive and Administrative Actions: Signed early executive orders addressing the affordability and housing crises, reversed certain prior executive actions, and established the Office of Mass Engagement.

Infrastructure and Maintenance: Overseen city infrastructure repair efforts, including fixing large numbers of potholes and general street maintenance.

Political Endorsements: Campaigned for and successfully backed progressive congressional candidates in primary races, earning attention as a political kingmaker.

This isn't about this personal life, his religion or whether he was born here or not. This is clearly about what he can do for the people of New York. What he has clearly DONE for New York. He is not a “normal politician” helping out only his billionaire friends, this is clearly a man of the people.

And since when is this a bad thing? Isn't this what politicians are supposed to do but for years they have lied to us telling us they "Can't do this or that, they have no money or whatever excuse they have for not doing their job” 

This man came in and made real changes. Life changing, changes for New Yorkers. I personally don't care if he was a little green alien, do the job, change things,and make things happen for working class people. 

We need change, desperately and if what you want to call “Socialist” are going to come in and make a change, let's open the door wide for them. Because clearly the Republican or the Democrats haven't done shit in all this time holding office. 

Yet here comes this guy making change happen left and right and the only thing you got to say is “He is Muslim” that's like saying all white men are pedophiles….

Oh, wait did I touch a nerve?

So today my friends, remember politicalians work for us, not the billionaires. They are supposed to make change to help us but we've been so brainwashed by money grabbing politicians that we lost that fact. 

I don't care what religion you are, I don't care what color you are, I don't give a shit who you sleep with, or what pronouns you use. Are you trying to make the world better? More affordable, safer? Are you trying to change the clearly broken system we had in place for years? Then you have my vote. Period. That is what we should be thinking of when we vote in November. 

We need more Mamdanis to be the change we want to see and to make us feel good this Friday and everyday.
