My best friend called me that morning which was nothing new as we talked every morning. We talked about life, our kids, working out, eating right. We talked about our love lives or lack of one, we talked about our horrible online dating history so when she called that morning I wasn't surprised but what came next I never expected.
"Hey what's up girl"

She sounded out of breath
"Oh man I don't know what I am going to do"

"What's up? " I asked.

"You know we went to the apartment and gave a deposit, now we need to give the rest of the money today except my new bank, that I just opened a account with, put a 3 day hold on my funds. If I don't pay the apartment today I will not only lose my deposit but the apartment as well, I need to get in there and settled before school starts next week. I don't know what to do... my mom is in New York...
I hate to do this but could you lend me the money just until the bank clears my money"

"Sure, no problem how much do you need?" I said without skipping a beat.

"That would be great I need $1500.00, you don't know how much I appreciate this, I swear I will give it back to you as soon as the bank clears my other money"

"$1500.00 wow..okay I guessI can call my air conditioning guy and tell him not to come this week to install the new unit and wait until next week, hopefully the air will hold out until then but no problem will give you that money I had saved"

"Thank you so much, I love you girlfriend"

"Love you too girl, I will come by later and bring you the money"

We hung up and even though I never loan anyone money and especially this amount I didn't think twice about it, she was my best friend and everything she said rang true, I knew she just switched to a new bank, her mom was away, it all sounded perfectly fine.

I met her and Al at the apartment complex later and gave them the money and then helped them move in.We unpacked the whole house and she was so happy to be on her own, so of course I was happy for her even if I had reservations about her moving in with him.

She hugged me goodbye and thanked me for all my help.
"Your a lifesaver, I am so blessed to have you as my best friend" She said.

"Yeah, well you would have done the same thing, talk to you in the morning"

I didn't realized that that moment would be the last good moment in our friendship.

I called her the following morning like I did every morning before work. No answer, I left a message for her to call me when she got a chance.

I didn't hear from her all day but thought she was busy finishing unpacking so I didn't think much about it.
The next morning I called again and still no answer, again I left a message.
By the third day I was getting worried "Hey girl are you okay I am worried about you, haven't heard from you in three days, call me!"

I got a text saying she was on the line with the bank and she would call me right back.

I got tied up and that evening realize I still didn't hear from her. All this time it never crossed my mind that she was dodging me or about the money she owed me, I was truly worried about my friend.

The fourth day I left three messages "Girl whats up with you, I am worried sick.. call me!"
Finally she called me back. "What's up?" She asked like nothing happened.

"Are hyou okay? I haven't heard from you in four days!"

"Sorry I've been very sick, I haven't been out of bed in days, I didn't mean to worry you"

"I was worry, sorry your sick"
