Recently with the Parkland school shootings, we were talking about how part of these shootings happening around the country is partly parents fault. Parents are afraid to talk to their kids, they are afraid to check their kids rooms, to discipline their children. They are wanting to be their kids friends, not their parents. We are afraid to discipline our children, we put them in "time out" we talk to them, we have gotten soft and it shows.

There is a video going viral about a boy who is like 10 on the floor of a Wal-Mart cursing and kicking his mother as she just stands there not saying a word.

Hello!! Oh hell no, that wouldn't have been my kids. I would have dragged them out by their hair, call the dam po po!
No, I was tough and when they needed an ass whipping, they got one.

Once I Dr. Phil my daughter by taking everything out of her room, the only thing I left was a mattress on the floor, I even took the door off the hinges.

Hello! This is my house I pay the bills, these are my rules, you don't get to disrespect me or even have privacy here.
If that boys foster parents checked his room, they would have found the gun, if they checked his Facebook and social media accounts they would have seen his posts.

You don't get to have privacy, I am your parent. I checked both girls rooms all the time and when I found bongs, drugs or whatever else, I confronted them, I punished them.
I took away phones, iPods and computer access.
I even had a control of the sites they could go on, on the computer. I am the parent, you are the child here, you will not tell me what to do.

My job, our job, as parents is to raise responsible, caring, compassionate, self sufficient adults, to go out and run the world one day. That is our only job as parents and we are screwing this up big time.

I don't believe in beating your kids to death but I do believe in a whooping when they need it, I believe in punishment, in all privileges including phones and all electronics being taken away and I believe in respect, I am your elder you will have respect for me and others period! Period!

You will not think your privileged, that anything is owed to you, that your all a winner even if you lose, please we are raising a generation of pussys, sorry let's be real.
We are not all winners, we lose, get over it, try harder next time, you will not start and stop a sport or anything else because it's too hard, life is hard, get use to it!

No, I am tough on my girls because life will not coddle them, they need to be prepared. Recently I threw out my 21 year old after not being in school, quitting her job and not working for 5 months, while I was working 12 hours a day to pay all of her bills and mine. I gave a time frame to get a job or I was done.
January 2, true to my word I threw her out and stopped paying her bills. In 5 months you could have gotten any job, even at McDonald's, I am not too proud, why should you be.

No, I know some of you will say this sounds harse but if she was in the real world they would have evicted her, again this is a life lesson for her.

I refuse to have a 30 year old, playing video games on my couch while I bust my ass, like so many parents I know do, no, not happening in this life time!

We need to take a long, hard look at our parenting skills, look at this generation and see what we are producing and then we need to make a change.

So today my friends remember it takes a village to raise a child, we all have our parts, the school's, the teachers, our neighbors, the government and most importantly us as parents. We need to all work together, we need to step up and teach the next generation morals, respect, love and compassion...they are our future, don't be afraid to stand up and say
"I am not your friend, I am your parent"

"Be the change you want to see"
