Learning life lessons

As I get older, I hope that I am getting wiser as well. I look at life differently, I try to find the lessons of every experience I have. I have learned so many lessons in the last few years bbecauseI chose to look for them, I know I've learned more in these few years than I have in my lifetime.

You learn lessons when you are ready to open your heart, be quiet within yourself and realize that you have to let go of your ego. A great friend once said "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear"

I remember my trip to Greece, this trip that was on my vision  board for 8 years. I learned to never give up on your dreams , that they may take a while but they will come. That trip taught me so many lessons, I can't believe it was 5 years ago already. I learned many lessons from that trip, first and foremost I learned more now than ever before, to have gratitude. I am not only grateful every day but I am even more grateful that God had showed his grace on me to let me be able to do this with my very best friend.

I saw people living in poverty and yet they were happy. I saw people sitting and really enjoying talking to others, not rushing about, this slow life pace was enjoyed by all. As if they knew what was important,  not like so many American's who life is all about making the almighty dollar. I was grateful to be able to learn these lessons with my best friend.

I learned to go with the flow, the apartment we rented wasn't in the greatest neighborhood, but we meet the neighbors, who were kind and told us about all these great gems in the neighborhood  like famiky owned restaurants with wonderful food and that made you feel like family while you were there. We made the best out of what we were given, with no complaints or whining, we were both just grateful to be there together.

We had no schedule, we wung it and we had fun. We laughed, we said each and every day how blessed we were to be there and we meant it, this trip was a lesson of gratitude.
Coming home we couldn't get flights out, as we were flying stand by on his passes, so we had to change plans. We had to fly out from Greece to London, but we rolled with it, I learned to bend and go with the flow. I looked at all of it as an life adventure, whatever God wants to happen, it will even if it's not what I want to happen, I need to let go and stop stressing about it.

I learned to stop and enjoy, really enjoy the moment, because in a second it could all change. So we had to go to London, okay, I looked at it as so now I got a stamp on my passport from London. I got to see the city and  taste the food, I got to see their incredible airport which is like no other I have seen before. What I'm telling you is I make the best out of a bad situation,
I found the good in it and I made the best out of it. Find the good, find the positive and then go with it.

So today my friends, stop rushing around, stop worrying about the past, stop worrying about what may or may not be coming, be content in this moment, take it in, sit back look around, enjoy your company and be grateful that you can do it. Learn the life lessons that the universe is trying to teach you. It's amazing how much you'll learn if you open yourself up to a new way.
