Yuggg.... can I have more days off

Yuggg.... can I have more days off?

If you follow me you know I was back home in New York for the last 10 days. When I got back I hit the road running, working doubles late into the night for the following week and then we got the news that the hurricane was coming and we had to prepare.

I was back at the gym on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and then had to get things together for my upcoming party I was hosting on Friday and so I skipped it.
Yes, I am that person who hosts a hurricane party, well it just seems like that most of the time. Monday was a holiday and the hurricane so no gym again and Tuesday we weren't really sure what the weather was so I slept in yet again. Hey, it was becoming easy, I was getting use to this extra 3 hours of sleep.

Coming back to the gym on Wednesday was pure hell. People always say to me "How do you go to the gym everyday at 5:30 in the morning? I could never do that"
Well trust me it's not an easy task. When my alarm rings at 5 a.m. I want to throw it through the glass window except it's my phone and I can't. It's an ungodly hour to be up at and some mornings I just don't want to get out of bed.

Then I think about what I would feel like if I didn't do it. If I don't go to the gym I feel sluggish all day, I have no energy and I basically feel like crap. So I  know that even though at 5 a.m. when I don't want to get up, I know that after I do and work out, I will feel amazing for the rest of the day. I will have energy, I will feel on top of my game and I know how good this is for my body and my mind and my health.

But some days it doesn't come easy, I want to roll over, I want to pull the covers over my head and sleep in for another 2 hours. But my guilty conscience gets the best of me every time. Look nothing worth doing is easy, if it was easy everyone would do it. If you come with me to the gym at 5:30 am you will see only a handful of people here and it's the same people day after day. Die hards, committed people who are probably like me on some mornings, wrestling with themselves to drag their tired asses out of bed.

They say if you do something for 30 days it becomes a habit, so you can do this, you just chose not to. It's all about choices and I say this all the time in this blog. You get to chose, you get to make a decision to change your life or not. Just like I choose to drag my ass here every day, you chose to sleep in. You chose to eat the wrong foods all the time,  you chose to party all night, drink too much, to live that lifestyle and hey who am I to judge anyone? If that's you and your okay with it, good for you! That's not me but don't say you can't do it, you can, you just choose not to.

Everyday people choose to lose 100 pounds, to quit smoking, to quit drugs or alcohol, to become a better person, a better parent or lover. Every day someone is choosing to change their life, they stop making excuses and they "just do it" like Nike says.

So today my friends remember, nothing worth anything is easy, remember that any change is possible if you are determined enough and that all of these choices are yours and yours alone. Choose wisely.

"Be the change you want to see"

"And just when the caterpillar thought his life over...he turned into a beautiful butterfly"
