Reflecting on my life

Reflecting on my life

This last long Thanksgiving weekend, I had time to stop and reflect on my life. Most of the time, I am so busy doing so much that I don't have time to sit and reflect.
But this weekend, as we decided to run away to a vacation on the beach, I had time to do this.

I didn't want to spend this weekend cooking and cleaning. I needed time to relax and spend some mommy and me time with my daughter.
I thought about how far my oldest daughter had come from the days that I thought I may have to put her in military school to the amazing women who is now traveling the world. I am grateful for my little one who found her passion and is going after it with a Masters degree. I am grateful I got to hang out with friends, to catch up and laugh, and even learn some lessons.

I am grateful for my heart because even with all the heartbreak I have experienced in my life, it is still willing and open to be able to try again and go on my first date in a year. Which, by the way, was amazing!

I know that life can change in an instant, and we need to be in this moment. We need to really stop to take the time to treasure what we have, what is important, and to give thanks as it could have been another way.

I've learned that I need to take care of myself. To exercise but not just that, to get to the core of me, which, for me, is yoga. It helps my mind, body, and soul. I started doing meditation with yoga again. I am watching what I eat and what I put into my body. I am watching what my thoughts are, which is just as important as what you eat. I want to be able to be and stay in a place of peace and of gratitude.

So today, my friends, this is me reflecting on my life, what I am grateful for, and this is what I am doing to stay in that space. My question is, what are you doing? Have you forgiven? Have you worked on what is broken inside of you? Have you worked on your body, your mind, and your soul? Whatever that may look like to you, it's your life, but we all must do the work to be where we want to be.
Start small, do one thing at a time, just do something because only you can be the change you want to see…
