The Real Life of Influencer Ruby Franke
The Real-Life of “Influencer” Ruby Franke
So recently I watched the documentary of Ruby Franke the social media “influencer” who had over a million subscribers. She portrayed the perfect family in her vlogs. Until the world saw the truth.
I also wrote yesterday about how social media is such bullshit and this is the perfect example of that.
She was beautiful, had a handsome husband, a big beautiful home, and 6 perfect kids. She videoed their whole lives making the rest of the world feel less than that we couldn't do what she did. But here's the thing people, things are never what they seem, and this was definitely that.
As time went on more and more people didn't like how she was disciplining her children online but no one ever expected this. It all came out when one of her children ran to a neighbor's house and told him what was going on. The boy was emancipated, he had bruises and duct tape on old wounds on his wrists and ankles where he had been tied up. The neighbor who called the police, actually cried as he told the operator what he was looking at with this boy.
The police arrested the mother (She and her husband had divorced and apparently, he had no idea what was going on as he hadn't seen his kids for a year, yeah perfect family right?) She was sentenced to 4 to 20 years in prison. The dad was trying to get custody of the children.
So here are the facts: there are more than 4 million mommy/parent influencers that post their families without their children's consent. They are showing the world what they want them to see. There is no law and parents can "work" these children as much as they want. We have to remember that so much we see on social media is not real, it's all bullshit. Look at this "perfect” family, but not so perfect when you see what is going on behind the camera.
There are currently no Federal laws in place to protect children from this even though some states have tried to do this.
So today my friends, don't believe what you “see” on social media by so-called “influencers” Not all is what it seems to be. Don't feel bad that you can't live up to their fake lives, because it's obvious that they can't live up to it either.
