Our New Concentration Camp Alligator Alcatraz
Our New Concentration Camp Alligator Alcatraz
So if you live in the fucked up state of Florida, you know what's going on here. And before you haters say “Well if you don't like it, you should leave” and don't forget to say it in that whiny voice too. My answer is I would in a heartbeat if I didn't have my girls here. Trust and believe if they said tomorrow “Mom we are moving to Timbuck To” I'd be packed faster than a U-Haul could get to the house. But I love my family so I am stuck here with our horrible government and with Deathsantis, the idiot governor who runs this state. And now we are stuck with Alligator Alcatraz, our new concentration camp right here in the south.
As if it wasn't bad enough, they are actually selling merchandise and coming there to take pictures, like it's some kind of Disney World. Wtf? And if you don't think this is a concentration camp, here is something to think about. According to Andrea Pitzer, author of "One Long Night: A Global History of Concentration Camps”
She says “It’s not just a new prison, Alcatraz or otherwise. I visited four continents to write a global history of concentration camps. This facility’s purpose fits the classic model: mass civilian detention without real trials targeting vulnerable groups for political gain based on ethnicity, race, religion or political affiliation rather than for crimes committed. And its existence points to serious dangers ahead for the country.”
Do you know what the Constitution says? Obviously, many of you who voted for Trump can't read or don't care to but let me remind you. The Fifth Amendment to the US Constitution, says no one shall be "deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law" by the federal government.
But wait there is more…
The Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Eighth, and Fourteenth Amendments to the U.S. Constitution protect individuals accused of crimes. The Fourth Amendment protects against unreasonable searches and seizures, the Fifth Amendment covers due process, self-incrimination, and double jeopardy, the Sixth Amendment ensures the right to a speedy and public trial, the Eighth Amendment prohibits cruel and unusual punishment, and the Fourteenth Amendment guarantees due process and equal protection under the law.
Do you know what this means? Wait, let me break it down for you. You cannot just snatch somebody off the street because of the color of their skin. You need a warrant. You need to bring this person in front of a judge and give them legal representation. You need to charge them with a crime. You cannot just snatch a person off the street and send him to some other country without due process. How do you not understand this? This is unconstitutional!!
And you most certainly cannot put them in a concentration camp in the middle of the Everglades with no air conditioning, with little to no food, with no means to speak with their families or an attorney and you most definitely can not ship them off to a foreign country without so much as a trial. If that's the way you think “government” should work, then you need to move to Russia.
How can you think this is okay? I get wanting to get undocumented criminals out of this country and I'm all for that. But little kids? Families working in the fields or restaurants? People in court houses trying to do it the right way? How is it okay to go to soccer fields and rip hard-working people away. This is definitely not the right way.
So today my friends, remember this happened before. It happened in Germany, and we watched it just like we are watching it now. It even happened in the United States of America, when we rounded up Japanese Americans and put them in concentration camps just because of the color of their skin. Yes, we did that. Go read about it, if they still allow that to be printed in our history books. This wasn't right then and it's not right now. We all must stand up and fight back. We must uphold our constitution. We all must be the change we want to see. Now is the time.
