No King's Day
No King's Day
I can't tell you how proud I am to be an American. Of course if you know me or follow me you know that I have been very vocal about where I stand in what's going on in our country. I have volunteered, given support and marched at many events here in South Florida. Today I am even prouder because my daughter came out with me. She saw the thousands of people out there fighting for her freedoms. I tell both my girls I have more life behind me than in front of me, this is their fight, they will be left with this mess to deal with.
I am horrified that at all these events there are way more older people there than young people. Listen up! Get your head out of your ass and off Ticktock long enough to frigging realize this is going to affect you for years to come. This is real life people, it's not about the stupid likes you get, it's about your freedoms. It's about freedom of speech, freedom to choose, who you love, what you do to your body. Freedom to have health care, a better life, this is the time, now!
If you don't speak out, what will happen? Well, you could read about it in the history books if they aren't already banned. It's called Natzi Germany, anyone who disagreed got carted off to the gas chambers. They lost their freedoms because they didn't speak up.
I am here fighting for your rights. I am here fighting for my future grandchildren's rights. I am here standing up for what is right, to say I was on the right side of history. That I spoke up, that I spoke out, that I did the right thing especially because I am privileged and I know it.
So today my friends, I am here to say thank you to the millions of people from all over the country and the world who stood up and said enough is enough. Who had the courage to do the right thing and who will go down in history on the right side, who fought the good fight and who screamed we are the people and we will not let this happen again on our watch. Thank you.
Let's all be the change we want to see.
