Our rights are slowly being taken away 

I know many of you think this statement may be “fear mongering” or a conspiracy theory. But hey you're not alone, millions of people in Germany thought that as well when Hitler first took over. And then look how that turned out.

According to the government's own page on these bills are on the books, these rights they (This government that you voted for) are trying to overturn or change to make it harder for women to vote, to have a say about their bodies or to just keep us safe. 

Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which passed the House and is currently pending in the Senate, could significantly affect the ability of millions of married women to vote due to requirements to prove U.S. citizenship that may not align with their current legal names. Several states are considering similar legislation, potentially requiring a passport or birth certificate to register to vote.

Reproductive Healthcare: The Women's Health Protection Act (WHPA), according to Congress.gov, aims to reduce federal barriers to abortion access by outlawing state-level restrictions and ensuring access to out-of-state abortion services. Additionally, the EACH Act, with lead sponsor Congresswoman Barbara Lee, seeks to reverse the Hyde Amendment, which currently restricts insurance coverage for abortion for many individuals receiving healthcare through the federal government.

Trump Administration Impact (Project 2025): Project 2025, developed by conservative groups, outlined plans regarding abortion, including limiting access to Medicaid funds for abortion for low-income individuals and potentially reinstating the domestic gag rule, which would affect family planning funding and abortion referrals. Project 2025 also recommends eliminating language related to "gender equality" and "gender equity" from federal legislation and proposes renaming the Office of Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment to focus on "pro-life initiatives."

Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act: The House voted to pass the "Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act" which would amend Title IX to explicitly ban transgender girls and women from participating in girls' and women's sports in federally funded schools. This bill is currently pending in the Senate. 

This is what's going on here people! Little by little they are trying to make it harder for women to vote, to have a say or to even be counted as human beings just like they did in the 50s and in Natzi Germany. We owe to the millions of women who came before us to stand up and fight. We owe it to those who protested, who spoke out, and who were arrested all in the name of justice. We must be the next ones out here not allowing this to happen. 

So today my friends remember this may not be your cause, but you have mothers and sisters that deserve these rights. We must all speak out for each other. We must unite because that is the only way we will win this war. We must stand together for black rights, for immigrant rights, for the rights of the LGBTQ community, for women's rights and for all rights because in the end these are all human rights. For now, we still live in a free country where everyone's rights need to be heard. 

Go out, protest, speak out, fight, vote, do everything you need to, to change this because like I say at the end of every blog only you can be the change you want to see.
