The Big Difference Between The Left And Right

So I want to clear up something that the “right” keeps saying about us “bleeding liberals” that they call us. First of all, we all want our borders to be safe, both the left and the right can agree to that. Imagine that, we agree? 

We don't want illegals or criminals coming into the United States. So, yes, we're on the same page about that. 

We also think that people that come into this country legally should be able to work, and pay taxes, but what we don't agree on is that we're not going to let anyone starve or anyone be without emergency medical care, especially children.

This isn't an issue about them or us.This is basic human decency for another human being, big difference.

Second of all, we believe in the right to bear arms. I actually am a gun owner.

I've had guns all my life. I don't want to take away anyone's rights to bear arms, but the difference between us and you is that we want gun control. We just want longer wait periods, mental checks and not being able to sell a rifle that shoots a thousand rounds in a second. We're not about taking them away, we would just like some gun control. We would like to do more than say we are sending our thoughts and prayers every time there is a mass shooting, killing our children in their schools,big difference.

We are not bleeding hearts because we care about others' rights. Everyone should have the same rights if they are living in the United States of America. It doesn't matter if you're gay or straight or black or white or brown, everyone should have the same rights.

Big, big difference between you and us. 

We believe that everyone is entitled to believe in what they believe in. Don't try to shove your religion or your beliefs down everyone else's throats. Maybe I don't want you teaching my children your beliefs in school, teach what you believe in, in your home where it belongs. Big difference.

We believe that the wealthy should pay more to help others, again that is just basic human decency. Why should people just barely get by paying more taxes than billionaires, this just makes no sense. Why should they get all the tax breaks when they are making billions off the backs of us working people. Big difference.

So today my friends, I hope that I have cleared this up for you on the right. At the end of the day, I would hope that we are the same. That we all want better for our children, that we can all have the same rights. That we can feed our families, maybe to own your own home, to help others, and to have compassion. At least that is what a decent human being wants…but maybe that is the big difference.

We all need to be the change we want to see.
