Can't we all just love one another?

I thought that when I wrote about the mass murders in Orlando and people came together that maybe, just maybe the world might be changing.

But this last week with the 2 black men being killed by police officers and then the police officers being killed in retaliation a few days later, it seems like the world is just going crazy.

I wrote how it seems like we take 3 steps forward,
5 steps back and it seems I have to talk about love yet again.

Why is it so hard to love one another? Okay your different, okay you believe in different religions, okay your skin color is different so frigging what! Get over it!!!
We are all the same on the inside, we bleed the same color, we grieve the same, experience happiness the same, we are the same, when will we get this?

I don't have any words that can be better, so I will quote 2 of the greatest men of our time and their words of peace that they spoke almost 50 years ago and that still stands true for today. If we will only listen...

Robert Kennedy said:

"What we need in the United States is not division; what we need in the United States is not hatred; what we need in the United States is not violence and lawlessness, but is love, and wisdom, and compassion toward one another, and a feeling of justice toward those who still suffer within our country, whether they be white or whether they be black."

Martin Luther King Jr said:

"I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."
And when this happens, and when we allow freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual:
Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"

These were 2 great men, men, who wanted us to live in peace, wanted us to love one another, despite of our differences. Great men who were killed because of their beliefs, did we not learn anything from their words?
Has their fight been in vain?
Have we, as a country not grown in 50 years?

If that is the case, that is sad news, we all need to look inside and reevaluate our lives, our beliefs and yes, us as a human race because we are doing a pretty crappie job here.

So today my friends, remember the words of these great men, let us all be free at last, to believe in what we believe, to see past the color of our skin, our sexual preference, our religious beliefs, we need to change and we need to do it fast, we need to just love one another...simple as that..
