Why are you always asking for things?

Treadmill Treats Monday Message

Why are you always asking for things?

Yesterday my Bishop had a great sermon and even though I wasn't there, I streamed it from the beach.
Thank God for modern technology, it's amazing!

It was funny,  he was talking about why we are always asking God for things, I laughed because here I was at the beach but I was giving thanks, not asking for anything just giving thanks for all the blessings in my life.

I was grateful for waking up, for my health and my girls health, for being able to be there at the beach, to see his all of his glory in the sky, the water, the sand, to be able to walk in the water, see the clouds and hear the birds.

All of these things I am grateful for and there is not a day I don't give thanks for all of this I have.

Yes, we all ask God for things, me included but some people do so without giving thanks, really would you put up with a friend who did that to you? If they always were asking you for things and you gave, again and again but they never said thank you.

After a while you'd say "Oh forget this, they are not grateful, they only come to me with their hand out, never with a word of thanks. Were done!"
Come on you know it's  true, thats exactly how it would be.

So why is it okay with God? Why do we think we can ask and ask of him and give nothing back or even be grateful.
Why is it so many people never speak to him, hardly believe in him but here comes a tragedy, here comes hard times and who's name is first on their tongues, yup "Dear God help me" yet we don't ask him for help in our everyday lives, we don't appreciate what he has already done in our lives.

I am so grateful, it sometimes makes me cry...I can't give enough praise for all he's done in my life. There are not enough words to say thank you...
I know where I've come from, I know what hell looks like, I've hit rock bottom on more than one occasion, I know what it feels like to be lost, to be alone and hurting, to hate your life, to hate waking up every morning. That is why I have such graduite for all he's done, I know where he's brought me from.

So today my friends remember to stop, to take a moment not to ask for anything but to give thanks for all you have...two little words mean the world...thank you...

"Be the change you want to see"

"And just when the caterpillar thought his life over...he turned into a beautiful butterfly"
