The count down to get in shape
If you read my blog, you know I write this blog every day on the treadmill.
Yes, 5 days a week I am up at 5 am and at the gym by 5:30 am. I have been working out since I was 16, one of the few girls, back in the day, in the gym in high school.

Working out is like breathing to me, like brushing my teeth, it's something I just do every day and when I don't do it, I feel nasty, just like if you didn't brush your teeth for a day.
But I am human and I am Italian so that means I like to eat and getting older doesn't help. So sometimes I am not in the optimal weight or shape, I like to be in. Oh what the hell, I'll eat that antipasto, what's one cookie, sure I'll have another drink...and before you know it, it somehow lands on your ass and you wake up and think how did this happen?
Yes, we are all the same and yes, your laughing because you know it's true.
So, for me, I love a challenge, something to motivate me and nothing does that better than a trip home.

Yes, going home lites that fire under my ass and when it's going home to meet your boo's 80 closest family and friends, nothing says pressure more.
But I am always up for a challenge and this is no different, so for the last month I have turning it up at the gym, I've watched what I ate, (Okay, fourth of July was a cheat weekend, hey didn't you read, I am human)
I started doing 75 push-ups a day, stomach 4 days a week, extra cardio at night, bike riding every weekend, yes, I have been amping it up.

But now it's down to the last 20 days and the countdown has really become real... oh lord, there is not a part of my body that doesn't hurt but I will continue to do what it takes and then to maintain it till October for a family wedding.
Look, I think we all need motivation, we all need something or someone to look up to, a goal, a dream, that you need to keep going.
I have a friend who shall remain nameless, Scott...you know who you are! Who graduated with me, he is in unbelievable shape, stomach muscles and all. I see him on Facebook and I want to be like him, I want to push myself beyond my limits, beyond my comfort zone.
He motivates me, he is there to show me and others you can do it at any age.

I know he does what he does to motivate people, just like I do what I do, I want people to say if she did it I can do it, maybe I won't give up, nothing at any age, is impossible if you try!
Yes, we all need someone like that in our lives to give us that push and to let us know, it's hard but don't quit, it will be okay.

So today my friends, remember nothing is impossible. Is it easy to get up at 5 am oh Hell no, but I do it.
Does it suck eating healthy all the time, really is that a real question? Yes, I am Italian and love food!

Does it suck that my body hurts in places I didn't know I had? Nothing like your age showing you how old you really are.
But nothing feels as good as accomplishing a goal, crossing that finish line, knowing you did it, you didn't quit, you set out and you did it.
So until I get there I will keep going, keep pushing, keep trying my best because it's all about not quitting and for me it's the countdown to getting into shape.
