Being a women is overwhelming
Being a woman is overwhelming
Sometimes life is overwhelming, especially if you are a woman in today's world.
Even though we live in a world full of technology and yes, so many things are so much easier than they were years ago, it has also made things harder in some ways.
Women have to be supermoms, super wifes, super workforce women. We have to have it all. We must have big important jobs, perfect lives, our kids must be in every sport and activities imaginable, otherwise we aren't good parents. We have to keep up with the Jones and we have to look like Barbie at all times, while doing it all.
I know how hard it is being a single mom of two girls, I own my own home and all the repairs and maintenance that goes along with it. I work 3 jobs,
I own a professional organizing and personal assistant business and I run a salon part time and I do hair at night. Whenever possible I do focus groups to make extra money on the side, I am always hustling trying to make money here or there.
I also write this blog on 6 different sites, 5 days a week. I promote it on every social media outlet, every day. I do a weekly youtube video which I have to make, edit and put out there as well.
I am at the gym 5 mornings a week at 5:30 am, I go to church 2 days a week and volunteer whenever needed. A few years ago I bought this home and had to gut and remodel the whole thing. I wrote 2 books that took 2 years of my life and had to build a new website for it, and then set up my Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages. When I finished my books I had to learn how to self publish, with all the joy that comes along with that. I'm telling you, trying to figure out all of this, all by myself was definitely overwhelming.
Dam, I am tired just writing all of this so you can imagine how I feel in real life! Yes, there are some days I have no idea how I do it all as I know some of you out there, feel this way as well.
We beat ourselves when we don't get it all done, if our houses aren't spotless, if we snap at little things because we are at our wits end most of the time.
Society puts so much pressure on us and we put even more pressure on ourselves if everything isn't perfect.
So today my friends, I am here to tell you it's okay not to be perfect, it's okay to let go. I've learned to let it go, okay, so the house wasn't clean and I had a list as long as my arm of errands but I'd rather choose to spend time with people I love on the weekends. Life is too short, the world is not going to end if our list is not done. No, go enjoy the moment, live in it, live big, live well. Laugh often, be present, enjoy and feel grateful for every second you have...it is not a guarantee that you will get another.
So take off your super person cape, throw it out the window, turn up the music, sing at the top of your lungs and smile big...believe me the dishes are not having as much fun as you are! Enjoy today you can always get back to being superwoman tomorrow.
