The top 10 rules of online dating

The top 10 rules for online dating

Okay, since I've been divorced and dating, there are so many things I have seen out there that are such a turn off. These are the things that me and my besties laugh about every morning especially after going on one crappie date after another. Can you hear me saying "augghh" in my best Charlie Brown voice?

Yes, it seems I do that a lot since I've been out here in this dating world.

Now this list is just from a woman's perspective. You men can chime in with what we do to turn you off as well, but I can only speak from what I know. And since I've only talked about switching sides because I have been so turned off and not actually done it, this is all I know. So here's my list of the top things that turn women off when on dating sites:

1 I don't need to see what you looked like 30 years ago.

We all looked better 30 years ago and most likely you did too and quite frankly, it's just a tease.

2. I don't want to see 10 pictures of your dog, cat or other animals.

One really cute picture of you with them is great. But seriously  are you promoting them or you?

3. I don't need to see pictures of your boat, car, house or motorcycle, ect.

I am not impressed, and then you call us gold diggers...Please

4. If you don't say anything about yourself, I keep going.

I want to be drawn in, if you're funny let it show, if you're romantic put it down, tell me about yourself, otherwise I think you're boring and I go….next!

5. Please take close up and full body shots.

Look we all have our types, I like athletic guys, that's me, some women have a thing for tall guys, that's them.

And for God's sake put up more than one picture,I went on a date and walked around for 15 minutes looking for him, because he looked nothing like his one picture. Also recently I've learned men use filters too, as I met a guy who looked 40 in his pictures but in real life he was pushing seventy. (Those were some damn good filters!) Please don't do it!

6. If you do get in touch, please don't call me baby, honey, sweetie or sexy.

Oh my God, you don't even know me! It's offensive and rude and right there it gets you to the door….next!

7. Don't say things through texts or emails that you would never have the balls to say in person!

Really?? Smh...Nough said.

8. You must know how to read.

If you did, you would have read that I am not looking to hook up, so don't ask. And please don't send me a picture of your ass or any other body part! AKA dick pics.Yuck! Seriously what part of I'm not looking to hook up don't you get?

9. Don't keep asking me to send you pictures.

I have 6 pictures on my page, how many do you need to see? Ask me out, then you can see the real thing!...Next!

10.Be a gentleman.

Yes, we still like that. Open doors, pull out chairs, at least offer to buy us a cup of coffee

(Yes, this actually happened, and we were at Dunkin Donuts at 1.35 cup of coffee...you know what happened right? Yup….next!) Also please don't talk about what a bitch your ex was. Don't come with baby mama drama, and don't talk to me about sex when your profile says your looking for a long term relationship.

It's a date, we're not getting married, be yourself for God's sake, just try to have fun.

These are my top 10 things to improve your online dating, men. I would love to go into that business of helping men create their profiles as it seems so many of them need it.

I have to tell you that it has been a trip dating nowadays but even though I haven't found a love connection yet, I have met some really great guys that are now my friends.

So today my friends, copy and paste, email or forward to those men you think need to read this and to all my gentleman followers, please send me your thoughts or your perspective of women and what we do that turns you off. I will gladly write another blog on that.

Bottom line is have fun dating, it's all about meeting new people, stepping out of your box and if nothing else you will have something to laugh about with your besties in the morning or if you're like me, the Taylor Swift of blogging, you get to write about it while your shaking your head in disbelief!
