The fake world we live in today

It is so sad what we have become in this world today. It's all about the money, the status, the followers, the likes. It's an all about me society, and it is really screwing up young people's minds. Everyone has to be perfect, perfect face, perfect body, perfect life, we only see what they want us to see, the perfect side of their lives. 

This is not reality but so many are running after this "reality" not stopping to realize that nothing is that perfect and that sure as hell, life is not perfect. You don't see them having no money in the bank, overextended to try to keep up that facade. You don't see them in the morning with no hair, no eyelashes, no padded bra or padded ass.

You don't see them cry themselves to sleep at night, bill collectors chasing them. You don't see them alone because being with someone and keeping up this lie is too much to do 24 hours a day. Or they have someone but they are there for the ride, for the perks. You don't see them going from one person to the next trying to fill that void that money can't. No, you only see what they want you to see...perfection.

It doesn't matter about followers or likes if you are a horrible person. It doesn't matter about things if you are selfish. It doesn't matter how famous you are because eventually you won't be anymore and then what? When the likes and followers aren't there pumping you up anymore? Then what? Will you know who you are, when no one remembers or cares anymore?

What happens when you slip from perfection? You say or do something that people don't like, and guess what they will turn on you as fast as they said they loved you. Who are you? The real you?

There comes a point when you have to step out of fear, when you're sick of pretending, of living a lie and you need to own your own life. Trust me when I tell you after pretending for 24 years nothing felt as freeing as saying this is the real me, like me, hate but I don't give a shit. 

When you're sick of trying to please others, when you are dying inside. When you can't stand yourself when you look into the mirror everyday. When you are too tired to care, it is then you will come out, and reveal the true, messed up, unperfect you and you know what? You won't be alone, there will be many of us out here cheering you on because we all have been there.

We have all screwed up, hurt others, had drug and alcohol addictions, tried to be someone we weren't. Many of us were ashamed, we were broken and afraid to admit any of that but to change you first must admit you have a problem.

It is only then, when you come clean, when you admit you're not perfect, then you can start the change, and then you won't care what anyone else says. It will be your journey and the only person you need to please is you and your maker.

So today my friends remember, fame fades, looks fades and so many times in today's world what you are liking and following is all smoke and mirrors anyway not reality. Even "reality" shows aren't reality. Let's get real here, eventually it will all go away and only the true you, will be left and then what? Learn to live your truest life, your life, not to imitate others lives. Not to buy into these  fake lives, but find a life that will always be fulfilled and filled with joy. A life that is real in this fake world.
