So recently I posted a meme that said “Driving down the road and saw my ex. Funny how I'd hit that changes meaning over the years.”

I thought that shit was hilarious but obviously my ex-husband did not think so because either he or his cronies peeped my page and he told my girls 

“So your mother wants me dead?” 

Seriously, dude, not everything is always about you. Trust and believe I have plenty of exes that this could be for! It was funny, a joke, something that made me laugh so I passed it on. 

Yes, I know that I do speak of our marriage in my blog and when my daughter asked me about this, I told her why. I speak of it because this is my truth. This is my purpose, to share my story to be able to help others. To show that you can leave and that things can change for the better. That you don't have to stay in a verbally abusive marriage or relationship, slowly dying. 

This is why I started this blog so that other women wouldn't feel as alone as I did. I have learned to own my shit and I have forgiven him for his, and whether or not he will ever apologize to me, I have moved on without it. I wish him well, I even pray for him, that he'll change for my girl's sake and for whoever is in his life's sake. 

I hold no hatred for him. Hatred is poison you hold on to for another person while it's slowly killing you. I have no time or energy for that. I want to be able to be in the same room and speak to him for the sake of our girls. For better or worse we will be connected for life because of them. We should try to at least be civil. 

I'm sorry that my truth hurts you but like one of my favorite sayings says:

“You own everything that happened to you. Tell your stories. If people wanted you to write warmly about them, they should’ve behaved better.” -Anne Lamott.

That is the truth, and this is my truth and I am allowed to speak it. 

So today my friends, I am here to say not everything is about you, sometimes I post things that are funny or to inspire others but like my favorite meme with Morgan Freeman says: No, that post wasn't about you but if the shoe fits, lace that bitch up and wear it.
