Mediation does a mind good 

So for today's feel good Friday message I want to talk about getting away from the craziness of this world. I know that so many of us have been over stimulated, have been worried and have been stressed beyond the norm. If you really want to change your mind, I can tell you that mediation is the best way. 
I got into mediation while I was in my abusive marriage. I needed something to calm me down. I needed a peaceful place to escape to during the abuse.
At first I was so bad at it, I couldn't calm my mind down for even a minute.
I sometimes have the worst Adhd and I can't concentrate on one thing for any amount of time. I would close my eyes and start to meditate and then think about the list of things I needed to do. I would try again and again only to come back to that list in my head. 

I also thought as a wife and mother, I didn't deserve to take this time out for myself. That others needed me, so how could I do this? But at that point I was useless to my family and myself, as I hated my life and brought nothing to the table. 

I needed to change. I needed to learn how to calm myself down. I needed to learn how to manifest something better. And so I kept practicing, over and over and over again. There were times in that hour that I came back to that list a lot more than getting a sense of peace, but I refused to give up. 

Eventually I got my mind to quiet down. For me the trick was to envision the life I wanted. I could get myself to focus on what my new home would look like, what the furniture would look like, right down to the pictures on the walls. I would walk through my “new home” and see everything as if I was really there. This kept me focused and calm. The more I thought about what the curtains would look like or the furniture, the deeper I could go into a feeling of peace. I now can meditate anywhere, all I do is close my eyes and focus on what I want to manifest next and this brings me to a calming and peaceful place. BTW it's my lake house in the mountains. I even had a girlfriend of mine who is an artist paint me my cabin so I can see it every day and manifest it faster.

So today my friends, if you think you can't do this, you're wrong. We can do so much more than we give ourselves credit for. You just have to try, you just have to want it and you just have to practice. I'm here to tell you that all you have to do is focus on your happy place, or the life you want to manifest and after a while you too will find that meditation does a mind good.
We can all change, and be the change you want to see.
