What's with dating today?

So I've been single the last 7 years and I have to tell you that it's been a friggin trip. I could write a whole Sex in the City book about my dating escapades. I don't understand what happened in between the 24 years that I was married and now, it seems like the world has gone crazy.

Men are no longer gentleman, they no longer care about a woman's feelings and behind the computer screen they seem to grow balls as big as Andre the Giant's (sorry, dinosaur reference) No longer do you get asked out on a dinner date, now it's a drive-by date. A drive by date is meeting for a coffee and if you're lucky you might actually get a cup of coffee. I'm serious, I've been on two "dates" and both didn't even offer to buy me a coffee...Wtf? One even sat there and drank a cup in front of me!
Trust and believe there was no second date there.

Now they come right at you with how all they want is sex, or how they want sex or how they want you to beat them with a wooden spoon while your having sex or help them put on makeup before sex...Oh, I can't make this shit up people.

They send you dick pics as if that's going to make you cream in your pants and go running to their house and then even have the nerve to tell you that you need to have some respect when you let them have it! Are you frigging serious? I need some respect?? Again, I can't make this shit up! I'm a good writer but not that good.

I don't know how men got to this point. Whether it was women who allowed this so they just figured it was all right with all women or they just decided that they could care less about treating a woman like a woman and decided that all bets are off. Whatever it was we're in a really sorry time right now.

I've had men invite me over to their house on the first date. Seriously I'm a New Yorker, you could be a serial killer, I'm not going to your house and your sure as hell not coming to mine, do women actually do that? And what the fuck is wrong with them if they do? What the fuck is wrong with man for asking in the first place? Yugggg....(in my best Charlie Brown voice)

Being a single women today, you have to be worried about these things and if you have children even doubly worried.
It's a scary time out here to be single and if you do get past the dreaded first date, you still don't know what your in for as my girlfriend always said the crazy doesn't come out until 3 months, so your still in trouble.

I have a lot of friends who refuse to date anymore because of all of these "men" and I use that term lightly because I haven't met any real men in a long time.

I do know that there are good men out there as I have many good men in my life. My cousin's, my friends, my dad's and family friend were all good men. My last boyfriend was a good man unfortunately he wanted children and I am way past that.

So I have hope to one day find one a good man and until then I guess I will be kissing a lot of frogs, getting more material for my blogs and keep wondering what's with dating today?
