Why do I blog?

I have been asked this question a lot in the last 7 years, it's because for me it's my passion, it's my purpose, it is what God has put me on this Earth to do.

It only took me this long to figure it out.
I know that many of you out there have a purpose or passion and maybe you too are trying to figure out what that is.
I know so many of you are asking this while you're working at a 9 to 5 that you hate. Saying to yourself every morning, "Is there more to life than this?"

I know because I was there, waking up every morning saying I hate my life and praying that there was more to life than this life I was living. I was miserable everyday in this horribly abusive marriage and I was so unhappy.

Here's the thing I learned, that everyone, every single one of us has something that God has given us, some gift. It may not be writing, it may be cooking, it may be sewing, it may be talking to people, or it may be a million other things that you're so good at. It is something that you can do in your sleep, that you can do for hours on end and not feel like it's work, that is your passion, that is your purpose.

I remember when I was writing my first book, I would write all day, sometimes for 10 hours at a time on the weekends. I wouldn't eat, I would barely go to the bathroom.
I was so focused on what I was doing, it didn't feel like work.

It's something that even if you don't get paid for it, your still doing it just because you love it. Look I still have a day job, yet every morning I jump out of bed to run to the gym and get on this treadmill to write this blog. 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year, I am not doing this for money. Money or not, fame or not, I keep doing it because this is my passion.

I love when people talk about overnight sensations, Ha! They have no idea how many years, how many hours, late nights, free time these people put in behind their new found fame to get them there.

Even if people told them to give up, that it would never happen, they still continued, because it is their passion and when you have that, when you find your purpose nothing will stop you.

Now I am going on my next journey to teach what I love to others. To give them a heads up I never had, to open them up to a world that I love.
Life is too short to not do what you love, to be stuck at a job, in a relationship,  being around people who don't bring you joy. So I am continuing on my joy journey to help others but on a different level.

So today my friends, remember we all have a purpose, we all have a passion that's inside of us. It is up to us to find it, to cultivate it, to nurture and grow it.
