Slowly We Are Losing Our Rights

We have never seen anything like this in our lives or our country. But we have seen this in other countries that are run by dictators. 

The loss of freedom of speech.

Yes. Folks this is actually happening right now in the United States of America.

Trump tried to shut out the press he didn't like. When he lost he doubled down and this happened on Tuesday this week.

According to the article that CNN’s Samantha Waldenberg wrote, “On Tuesday a White House official formalized pool criteria in a memo, and pointedly omitted a spot for wires, even though wire services like The AP are foundational to White House coverage. Instead, there will now be a second print journalist spot, and wires will be eligible for the two print spots, along with many others. In practice, this means The AP, Reuters, and Bloomberg will have markedly less access than they did in January when all three were in the pool every day.”

He is only allowing in the press that make him look good or to say what he wants them to say. Hitler did the same thing, but instead of just shutting them out, he killed them. 

Well, that may be coming next as he is planning to send “Homegrowns” to El Salvador without a trial or due process, it kind of sounds like we are heading towards the Natzi regime doesn't it?

Being a writer I have heard people in our industry who are worried about what we say. They are already arresting people who are protesting and shipping them off to God knows where. Well, I am here to say I will die for my freedom of speech and you better be ready to as well. Because this is a fight for your rights, for your free speech, for your right to protest, and to be able to have the news delivered without bias. 

This is about the rights of the elderly, poor people, Blacks, people of color, the LGBTQ community, hungry children, and people with disabilities. If we start taking one group's rights away, how easy is it to take every other's rights away? Too easy. Don't believe it, well you better start reading about the Holocaust and how this very thing started there. But you better hurry up before they ban these books too! 

So today my friends I am here to say you better speak out, protest, vote, or run for government, but never allow them to take your rights away. Rights our ancestors fought so hard to get, which took years of fighting and with people who were willing to die for the rights you have today.

We need to do something every single day against us slowly losing our rights. 

We all need to be the change we want to see.
