National Walk Out, Free America Day

Today is National Walk Out,Free America day in case you live under a rock and don't know it. At 2 pm today everyone in America will walk off their jobs, out of their schools, their homes and protest what is going on in our country. 

So if you are living under a rock, you might ask why? Don't laugh. I've actually had people asking what I am protesting for as if they had no clue. (Yes, it is mostly white, rich, privileged people, nah really?) 

Today, yet again it's because we have a wanna be dictator who is trying to make this a fascist country. Wake the fuck up people! This is Natzi Germany happening right in front of our eyes, you don't see it because you didn't read the history books. 

They are trying to take away our rights, and not just women rights, rights of the LGBTQ community, immigrants rights, hell they are trying to change our constitutional rights. There are masked men going from house to house looking for anyone they deem an immigrant or they are giving people money to turn in their neighbors that are brown. That is straight from Hitlers playbook! You should be afraid that they are snatching people out of their cars. Hello! They are shooting people in the face for no reason and we are watching this with our own two eyes and the government is saying, you didn't see that. This cannot continue. 

Because if you think this doesn't affect you you are dead wrong. It will come for you as well, read your history books, it will show you how that happens when you don't comply. You are not immune to the cruelty, they just haven't reached you yet. You don't know because it hasn't touched your life because most likely you don't even personally know a person of color or you have that one token Black friend so you think you know. Unless it touches you, you won't do anything. And hey, you have to look yourself in the mirror, you'll have to tell your children or grandchildren that you did nothing. That you were complicit, that's on you.

So today my friends, yes today, we need to send a clear and loud message that we are mad as hell and we are not going to take it anymore!! We need to show them that we run this country not them. That this is the people's country and that we believe in the constitution and our rights and we will not stay silent anymore. We are the change we want to see.

Be that change today at 2 pm and join us on walking out to free America.
