What Is Going On In America? 

I have to pause my fasting blog that I have been doing all week because I need to speak on this. I cannot stay silent because my heart is breaking for our country. The country that I once loved and called this the best country in the world, I cannot do that any longer. We are no longer a country that has the Statue of Liberty saying, come bring your masses, we will protect you. That is not who we are anymore, and this is not okay. 

You cannot just go around and shoot people in the street, dead like a dog and then watch as your government lies about it. As if we didn't watch the video with our own eyes. And the rest of you are trying to spin this to make it seem like this is okay. This is not okay! 

We as a country that still believe in our constitution, know that this is not right. We need to stand up, we need to speak out about it. We need to go out and make changes. This is the only way we will survive. 

I know that many of you don't know, but I converted from Catholic to Judaism, and it took me 3 years, why? Because they wanted us to know about everything that happened in Natzi Germany. Especially how it started. It started little-by-little taking away rights, by banning books, by squashing the press. It started by the military forcing people to believe. By pulling people out of their cars and killing them. It wasn't just the Jews that they killed, it was the socialist, the union workers, Polish people and then it was anyone who didn't agree with Hitler, even Germans. So if you think they are not coming for you, you are sadly mistaken. 

Does any of this sound familiar? Read the books, people. You know, the books that they are trying to ban so that we become dumber. So that we don't see that history is repeating itself. If you read history you too would be afraid and we should be. This is Natzi Germany happening all over again. 

We need to make a change. Let me say this again for the people in the back who think I am an alarmist, who don't believe it, we need to make a change. This cannot keep happening, people cannot get shot in the streets, be kidnapped without due process. We cannot go on starving hungry children in the United States of America. People are dying without healthcare, and the government is pitting us against one another when we should be working together to make this country better for all. 

So today my friends I come to you with a broken heart to say that I believe all people should have rights. People are dying here, not just in the streets but in their hearts. Every day, my heart breaks, every day I lose faith in humanity and this cannot happen. I believe we can all make a difference if we all can be the change we want to see.

Be the change, we need it more today than ever.
