Not Everyone Follows Jesus For The Right Reasons
Not Everyone Follows Jesus For The Right Reasons
On Palm Sunday there were 2 kinds of people that came to see Jesus:
1 The curious
2 The convinced
They either wanted to see how he raised Lazarus from the dead. Or the convinced that knew he had raised him from the dead.
See, many of the religious knew that anytime you decide to leave religion and follow Jesus it means you don't need them. These preachers and priests were getting nervous. So they wanted to see it with their own eyes. The critical and the corrupt showed up because they were scared that people would follow Jesus and then they would lose their power over these people.
They came not only to see Jesus but to see Lazarus, to see if he really raised him from the dead.
But the true believers didn't need to see Jesus to believe in him.
We know what he did even if we didn't see it happen.
Poor Lazarus had no idea that since Jesus raised him from the dead that people had it out for him. The religious wanted to kill him again because they were worried that more people would follow Jesus because of this. We need to realize that not everyone in your boat is rowing, some people are drilling holes. Not everyone is for you, not everyone was happy that Lazarus was alive.
See when your life reflects transformation you become a threat to the others, you become proof that God still works.
Palm Sunday is about property directed worship. It was intentional worship. They were worshipping Jesus.
When you recognize the presence of God in your life, it's going to force you to shout and recognize that he is God. You will worship him in the best and the worst of times. When your back is against the wall. When everything is coming at you. You must learn to worship God at all times.
So today my friends I am here to tell you that not everyone follows Jesus for the right reasons. You must know your reasons, you must follow on your own. You must taste it for yourself. You have a choice to take the risk and not follow Jesus. Or maybe just maybe, what if we are right, that we took the risk and that our internal destiny is secure. Only you have that choice to make.
Only you can be the change you want to see.
