Doing what you can to get by

Life is tough now a days, some people have to work 3 jobs just to get by. I know being a single mom that I have to work 3 jobs to make ends meet.
It is not easy out here especially when you are doing it by yourself.

But you have to do what you have to, to get by. I am a hustler and it doesn't matter what I have to do, I am going to do it. That hard working mentality was ingrained in me by my parents.

So it makes me laugh when people comment on my Facebook page about me traveling all the time and say how "It must be nice" in that snarky voice.

They have no idea that I don't buy designer bags or shoes. That I don't buy lunch everyday or get a 4.00 latte bullshit every day at Starbucks. They definitely don't know that most nights like last night, I got done working at almost 9 PM. I started my day at 5 am to go to the gym and be out of the house by 7:45.
That when I got home, I was too tired to eat and could barely get into the shower because my body was so tired and hurt so bad.

They have no idea that I drive sometimes more than 50 miles a day from one client to another or on the days I go do hair like yesterday I did 17 people. Please,  they know nothing of 3 clients a day, 12 hour days, they only see me traveling and say must be nice!

Yes, it must be nice to work 12 hour days? Are you out of your mind? It sucks but it is what it is and I just deal with it because I have no choice. I have no husband or rich boyfriend to take care of me. I wasn't left a trust fund or had multiple lawsuits to keep me going, this is all on me.
Yes, I was lucky enough to get something out of my divorce but that went into buying and remodeling my home for me and my girls.

The rest is on me, no alimony...nothing. Just a lot of hard work and long nights.
I don't ask anyone for anything, I am very independent and I get it done one way or another.

So I don't understand how people can be such haters, trust me this is not a glamorous life just because I get to travel does not erase all the hard work it takes to do that.

I have a lot of single mom girlfriends who have it just as bad and my heart goes out to them but I would never say "Must be nice" if something good happened to them or they got to go travelling. I would be just as happy for them as if it happened to me.

Big lesson last year and this year that I am still learning is that not everyone has my heart and just because I would do or feel one way doesn't mean everyone else does.

So I get it and I will keep doing me, keep hustling, keep grinding until that day comes when I am blessed enough to be able to do what I love to do, which is writing, full time and not have to worry about bill's or traveling because I'll be making the big bucks.
But until that day comes I'll be hustling doing what I can to get by.

So today my friends, remember do you, don't listen to the haters, do your hustle, start that side business, work them long hours, this is your life and you got to do what you got to do to get by.
