Krappie kids
Krappie kids
Okay, so here's a subject so many of us parents aren't willing to talk about. It's as if, we are real about this, then it is some how a reflection of us and how we are bad parents.
Yes, I am going there today because if you know me, you know that I am transparent. And with taking with other parents I feel we need to speak of this.
That and the fact that I think my kids are krappie as well.
Ohhhhh.... I said it.... yes, my girls are krappie sometimes. They are self centered, they think the world owes them and they are some times down right mean to me.
I know I did all the right things as a parent, I was room mom for both of them every year until high school, I was PTA mom, I was milk and cookies mom after school. I did homework with them, school projects and never missed a school event or recital ever.
My home was always open to their friends, we spent every Sunday together as it was family day, every night we sat as a family at dinner with no phones or TV allowed. I gave them ass whoopings when they needed it and the big one got grounded for misbehaving on a regular so it wasn't as if I wasn't a loving but disciplinary parent.
Yet still they are krappie, when I was getting divorced which by the way, they begged me to do for years, they suddenly took their fathers side and turned me out. When I moved out they never even spend the first night in our new home, even though they knew how much it meant to me.
This Christmas was it for me as they had enough money to travel the world, get facials, nails, hair and fake eyelashes every month. They had enough money to buy expensive gifts for their friends and boyfriends and themselves and yet bought me a krappie gift and then said it's the thought that counts.... yeah, I said, you obviously don't think much of me then.
Look maybe I am old school, my mother was amazing but trust and believe she wasn't room mom and she never came to school unless I was in trouble and she needed to. She worked the night shift at a local diner and we were dirt poor but she was a good mom and as I got older I did all I could for her.
I bought her new TVs, vcrs, fur coats. All of her gold and diamond jewelry that my step father didn't believe in, came from me. I brought her flowers every Friday and when I moved to Florida I had the florist up there keep delivering them to her. I appreciated my mother, she was my world and I would have given her the world if she wanted it.
I have heard others who give their children everything, do it all for them, to also turn on them and treat them like shit. And I personally know children who have had a krappie mom. A mom who brought men home, came home all the time piss ass drunk and the child had to take care of them, turn around and buy them expensive gifts and put them on pedestals.
My nieces mom left her in my care for most of her childhood as she went partying and running around and I basically raised this kid but ask her and her mom is wonderful, the best, can't do no wrong.
Hello!! Am I missing something here?
What the hell? Seriously? Am I the only one who thinks this is shitty?
I am sorry, for me you get what you deserve. If you were a krappie mom you don't deserve this and I know personally I wouldn't be fake enough to want to do for you.
But for the rest of us out here who were good parents, did the best we could and gave all we had to ensure our kids had a better life than we did, we get shit on.
Maybe it's this generation, this me generation, that they only think of themselves.
They care more about what strangers think of them, more about likes on their 10 million selfies then they care about us. I don't know what it is or how it got this way but it sucks.
So today my friends, I am calling out all the krappie kids out there. Maybe you should print this out and stick it on their mirrors or better yet on their cell phones since that's the only thing they care about and look at anymore.
It's truly sad to have to admit that your children aren't perfect, that all you've done and tried to instill in them was in vain. The only thing I can say is I hope one day their children won't treat them like they treated us. And one day their parents will no longer be here and they will be wishing that they could do anything for them to have them back but it will be too late...
So krappie kids think about this, because before you know it, in a blink of an eye, they can be gone and no one will love you, no one will be your biggest cheerleader and no one will have your back like a parent.
I will leave you with this story, my great grandmother use to tell my mom "Don't ever bring me flowers when I die, I can't smell them then. You have brought me flowers every week while I am alive and can appreciate them, so you will never have to feel bad about not bringing me flowers to my grave"
A very wise women, my great grandmother was.
"Be the change you want to see"
"And just when the caterpillar thought his life over...he turned into a beautiful butterfly"
