My week of juicing

My week of juicing

If you follow me you know I write this blog every day, 5 days a week on a treadmill, hence the name Treadmill Treats.

I am at the gym every day at 5:30 am and I try to live a clean lifestyle. I do and eat everything in moderation, I try to take care of myself the best I can.

I believe it is a mind, body and soul connection. I do yoga, I meditate, I exercise, I eat right and I am always positive and grateful for what I have and where I am going.

Recently I've learned from a client about juicing and because God is so good another client gave me her juicer so I had no excuse not to try it.

Well my hat's off to those who do this all the time. This shit is hard as hell. For one it's expensive to eat so healthy, then the prep work takes forever you have to soak and scrub and cut up the veggies.

Then the whole juicing is a whole nother project with a mess like you never seen to clean up. But when I saw how much juice I got from all of this work I almost threw in the towel. Are you frigging kidding me?? That's all the juice I got from a wheelbarrow full of veggies?? Wtf?

But I was determined to try it, I was feeling bloated and sluggish, I was tired and I really wanted to jump start my summer off being in better shape.

So today is day 5 and I made it without killing anyone! Yah me! The first day I  wanted to bite someone's head off, literally because I was so starving but by day 2, suddenly I wasn't hungry anymore.

So to explain what I did, I stopped eating around 5 PM and would fast for 14 hours to get my lymphatic system going then I would juice carrots, beets  Apples, ginger, turmeric, spinach and kale and drink that for breakfast and lunch. Sometimes I added a salad for lunch, sometimes not. Dinner I have been eating salmon and greens with a little brown rice on a couple of days.

I've upped my work out by increasing my speed on the treadmill which trust and believe is hard while your trying to type this on your phone and not bust your ass.

I also started running at the end for at least 10 minutes to start off with. I also increased the weights I lift trying to push myself and every night I end the day with 25 push ups, 25 sit ups, 25 squats and 25 burpbees.

I have to say I feel great, the bloating is gone, the sluggishness is gone replaced by tons of energy. My brain feels clearer and I all around, feel amazing.

Here's the thing, I am always saying your never too old to change, never too old to start anything, a new business, a new relationship, a new change in your body or mind, it's up to you. You are in charge, you get to make that decision, you!
I hate it when people say to me must be nice to be so thin, no it's not nice and it's sure as hell not fun waking up at 5 am every day and falling asleep at 10 PM. It's not fun eating shit that tastes like trees every day or doing all this work when I could be going to the drive in. Or packing my lunch and coming home after working 10 hours to cook something good. No it's a sacrifice that I chose to make to hopefully break this generational curse I have on my family with heart disease and cancer.

But in all honesty it is now an addiction, well it's better than my old addiction I had. It's like brushing my teeth, it's something I just do every day and if I don't I feel horrible all day. When I am done with my workout and am driving home watching the sun come up, I feel energized and incredible.
This is what I get out of this, all the pain, all the prep, all the effort pays off in my attitude, my mental health and my inner peace. I feel self confident and in control, I look better well maybe that's in my head, I definitely feel better for sure.

So today my friends, try something new, start small if you have to like me and running, do 5 minutes a day, walk around the block, cut out soda, change your diet, you can always increase it later but don't complain, don't hate while your sitting your ass on the couch watching 5 hours of TV every night. Be like Nike, just frigging do it! As as I say at the end of every blog....
"Be the change you want to see"

"And just when the caterpillar thought his life over...he turned into a beautiful butterfly"
