Why would you gossip about others? 

Recently I was  at this party and I was amazed how so many people like to gossip about others. The first thing I noticed was that they started whispering about this one and that one, cutting them all down, I just don't get it. 

It reminded me of one of those reality shows, the housewives of who gives a shit, where that's all they do is talk bad about one another and back stab each other

I don't know about you but I know that I am at a point in my life that we should be adult enough to let go of all the petty bullshit and be happy for others successes not just their failures. I am not jealous of anyone as I know that looks can be deceiving. Yes, that friend who has those Louie shoes or the Gucci purse looks good on the outside but inside she is dying and unhappy. Your friend with the big house and fancy car can't sleep at night because they are drowning in debt. The friend who thinks they are better than everyone else and puts others down is really just insecure about themselves and is trying to take the focus off of their own shortcomings.

At this point in my life I want to know the good stuff, like when did they decided to change their lives, when they got a promotion,

how'd it feel when they got a new house. I want to know if someone gifted them with a new car, the blessings they received or had given, this is what I want to talk about, the positive things not the negative stuff. 

I will only focus on all the good around me now, I feel there is nothing missing, nothing lacking or nothing broken in my life. I am full and I want to stay in that space. For me gossip is a waste of time just like watching the news,because all you hear about is the bad things.

 I don't want to know the bad, tell me good news, uplift me, give me hope for a better tomorrow. Yes, there is so much good in this world yet so many people just want to focus on the bad, the sensational because we have become a world of gossip mongers. Building someone up just to tear them down has become a national past time and it needs to stop.

I want to uplift my sisters, I want to be the one who straightens my queens crown when she stumbles. 

I want to inspire and uplift others, give them hope and courage to go on. I want that person to walk away feeling better because they met me, feeling like they can do anything, that is the legacy I want to leave behind.

So today my friends, I am here to let you know that it's a choice, I tell you that everyday, and the choice is yours. You can go around and talk about people to try to make yourself feel better about your situation, you can tear people down, and look down on them or you can rejoice in others good fortune and be truly happy for their lives.

I will leave you with this story, I remember when my bestie had someone give her a car as her car had just died. She's  a single mom, on a fixed income because of a disability and I knew how hard it's been on her. When she told me about this gift she got, I literally cried because I was as happy for her as if it happened to me.

That is where we should all strive to be, to be happy for others, to be overjoyed as if it happened to you. We need not to be jealous or mean spirited or gossiping about them.

Remember the only time you should look down on someone is when your giving them a hand up.

So be grateful for the space you are in right now....
