The truth gets the most comments 

I remember writing a blog about a friend who did me wrong. I posted it then I thought I didn't like the way it sounded and didn't want to put out that kind of negative energy so went back and took it down. 

Well, I guess it has gotten out there on my other blogging sites and I had more hits on this blog than any other in the month. I guess I hit a nerve, people wrote to me telling me their stories of hurt and betrayal. Of how they too, could relate to me and how they needed to hear my story to finally close a door that needed to be closed years before. 

Sometimes you need to put your truth out there. Sometimes you need to know you're not alone, that there is another person going through what you are going through. I have to tell you I thought the blog I wrote came off as snarky. I was hurt and wrote from a place of hurt and that is never good. 

But I also wrote from a place of honesty, the deep raw honesty of being hurt and that had touched people. I was shocked that not one person who wrote to me said I was negative or snarky, instead they praised me for being so open and honest.

Since starting this blog I have learned that I have to write about the good, the bad and the really ugly. I realized that there is someone out there I am touching. This is my purpose, my God-given gift that when I tell my story to others, that I inspire them. Sometimes I hit the nail on the head, sometimes I am way off base, but hey, I am human. I now realize that when I am snarky I get called out for it by complete strangers and from family and friends. Even so I will continue to tell my truth. You know what they say, 

"The truth will set you free"

And if I learned anything in the 8 years since starting this blog, the truth feels so good. I don't have to remember what I said before because it comes from a part of me that no longer lies, this is my authentic self and because of that it truly has set me free.

So today my friends, speak your truth...speak it loud, speak it often, never hide behind your feelings. This is your truth, this is your life, your authentic self, so live it in truth, live it large and live it to the fullest!
