Thinking about your life in depth
Thinking of your life in depth
Einstein once said,
"If you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will spend its whole life thinking it's stupid."
You need to live in the element that you are born to. Stop letting others tell you who you are. Stop letting your teachers, your parents, or even your own mind keep you from your purpose.
Stop trying to make others happy. Stop doing the "right thing" that your parents think you should do. Stop judging yourself against others, just do you, do what you love, and what you were called to be.
But finding your passion isn't enough. You have to be helping others. If you start from the point of what you are going to get out of it and not what or who can help, then you are never going to be fulfilled.
In today's society, we want everything to be measured. How many likes are we getting? How many "friends" do we have? How many hits are we getting? We measure our success by others' judgment and others' view of us.
There is a beautiful Einstein quote that says:
"Not everything that counts can be counted and not everything that you can count, counts."
It doesn't matter the likes. It matters who you are touching. It matters who you can help, to do what you love and be able to be of service to others.
Your passion is for you. Your purpose is for others. Read that again.
Reflect on the voice inside your head of what you want to do and who you truly are.
You have to do the work, you have to know no matter what, this is what you need to do.
I know this is my purpose. My writing is my life. It's my passion. I can sit down and write for hours, and it feels like it's been minutes that went by because I love what I do.
I know this is what I was born to do. I did many other things in my life, but this feels like I am home. This is the perfect fit. This just feels right and where I need to be.
But the real reason I do this is to inspire others. I do this, so hopefully, it will give someone hope that if I can do it, you can do it.
To give others a view of yes, life is hard. Yes, I was knocked down. Yes, I had hit rock bottom twice, and yet here I am, I made it, and you can too. This is my purpose.
Here's the thing, if you put a fish in a big, beautiful mansion, it's great, but he will die because he is not in his element.
It's not about the money, the fame, or the "likes" it's about thriving in your element.
It's a choice, it's your choice and you get to choose your life.
Ask yourself these questions if you are stuck, if you don't know what your passion or your purpose is.
1. What am I good at?
2. How can I help others?
3. What does the world need?
4. How can I make money at it?
Figure out these questions, and you will find yourself. These are the things you should be thinking about when you are thinking about your life in depth.
