I prayed for the things I now have

I always say this about my life and it's true, so many things I've prayed for, I now have. Like my business, my home, my purpose, those were all things I use to pray for.

So on Sunday when my girls invited me to church I was shocked. Yes, you read that right, they invited me to church and yes, I was blown away.

If you follow me you know that I converted to Judaism when I got married because I wanted to raise my girls in one religion. I practiced Judaism in our home, even as far as doing Shabbat dinner every Friday night. I did it all, right down to the candles, the bread, and the wine blessings. But my ex didn't seem to care and I finally gave up.

I am sorry to say my girl's religion went by the wayside. They knew I believed in God but that was it. I was barely surviving in my verbally abusive marriage and I kind of gave up on God for a while.

I finally gave my life over to God at the end of my marriage because I was so lost and broken, it was then I started going to church again. I prayed they would find him too. I would invite them and every once in a while they would throw me a bone and go to please me. I prayed that they would find the peace I found with him. I always talked about God and what he's done in my life, hoping that one day it may stick.

Well God works in mysterious ways and he brought a boy in my daughter's life that is a believer.  Not just a believer but actually goes to church every Sunday.
Well, he started getting her to go and somehow she talked her sister into going and that's how they invited me.

As I sat there in her boyfriend's church and looked over and saw both my girls getting the message this cool preacher was teaching I started to cry. This was what I've been praying for, for years.

I know what God did in my life, how I let go of stress because of him. How I believe that anything is possible because of all he's done not just in my life but in others as well.
I know what peace and joy feel like because he's taught me to forgive and to love even when I didn't want to.
All of this and more was the reason I prayed they would find him.

I remember the nights when I was married and I would cry myself to sleep praying that things would change. I prayed about being able to take care of myself and my girls and he has provided.
I prayed I could find a place for us to live, I was just thinking about a rental and he gave me a home I own.
I prayed to be able to come home and not have to walk on eggshells and worry about all the names he use to call me and now I come home to peace and joy.

I prayed my writing would open doors for me to speak in front of women who were in my situation and I have and continue to do so.

So I am here to tell you all out there don't give up. Hold on to the prayers you are praying, know that he will answer them maybe not in your time but in his.
Nothing is impossible if you believe.
Because I am living proof that I have prayed for the things I now have.
