Am I always inspirational?
I remember writing about how someone blasted me because they read one blog and to them it wasn't inspirational. My cousin Carol, God love her, always tells it to me real and she said "Well you do say your an inspirational blogger and that clearly wasn't inspirational"
Wow...leave it to her to always be right as usual.
(Don't get a big head cuz!)
But it's true, I am human and sometimes I have bad days, and yes, sometimes I rant on here. I am human and there are days that I cry, days that I open my heart up and show it to all to you, out there.
But I always try to end the blog with a message, I always see the glass as half full, I am always trying to look for that lesson I need to learn, that I need to share with you. See I believe everything has a lesson and we just have to be open enough to look for it and see it.
I try to be positive and uplifting especially during these hard times we are all going through. I try to write about things that will keep us going through this pandemic but Dam it, lately it's hard.
It's hard when black men are being killed every day by a system that allows it. It's hard when you see people that you thought you knew take out their sheets and say horrible things about another human being all because their skin is another color. It's hard when I see black people protesting for decent human rights that they protested for 50 years ago and still haven't gotten. It's hard to be inspiring when #45 is trying to take away health care and the rights we fought for for the LGBT community. It's hard when the man who is supposed to run our country and bring us together is condoning it and fanning the flames of hate. It is hard when the world has seemed to go crazy...yet you all think that because I am like Tinkerbell that I should just forget all that and continue to just blow sunshine up your ass.
Look, I am human and I have issues just like you. My car breaks, my girls drive me crazy, my work is slow, I got big bills, I have no love life, just like everyone else. Yes, I get down, I occasionally lose hope and get depressed about it but don't get it twisted, just because I write this "inspirational" blog doesn't exempt me from life issues.
The reason I have so many people reading my blog is because I have been through so much. It's because I am human and I write about my pain, my issues, my falling on my face. I am truthful about how time and time again, that I pulled myself up, put a smile on my face and tried again. My readers know that I hold on to my faith, no matter how small it might seem. They know that I believe tomorrow will be a better day and how I truly believe in my soul that God has great things for me.
Yes, maybe "inspirational blogger" is not the right title, maybe life blogger should be my new title, because yes, most of my blogs are inspirational but let's get real, life is not all sunshine and roses...please!
No, it's really about how we face our hardships, how we overcome obstacles, it's about being a fighter and never giving up no matter how many times you get knocked down, that's real life.
So today my friends, I will warn you here and now, I will not always be inspirational. I will not always say it the way you might want to hear it. There are times that I will definitely be blue, that I will be hurt and sad, that the world and the people in it will make me cry but I will never sugar coat it and I will always be real with you because this my friends, is real life...
And I am not always inspirational.
