Count your blessings not your bitterness
Count your blessings not your bitterness
I constantly live my life like this, I believe that life should be an incredible journey. Life is way too short and it should be enjoyed to the fullest.
There are so many people I know that are sucking on the bitterness of life and then passing it on to others to taste. It's as if they are unhappy so they must make everyone around them unhappy as well.
Bitterness makes you miss the good things in life, it makes you concentrate on the bad in your life and makes the good seem smaller and less gratifying.
QWhen things are tough and life is hard I always think of my favorite bible verse, Romans 8.28. "All things will work together for our good and according to his purpose"
Yes, we will have bad times.Yes, there will be hard times, you just have to have faith that it will all work out. You must hold onto your purpose, as it will fill your life and your heart with overwhelming joy.
I know that maybe right now as you are going through the storm, it is hard. I know that we have been in this pandemic for months, you lost your job, money is tight, you're worried about feeding your family. It's scary, the world feels out of control, it is dark and you feel lost. You are hurting and it feels like it will never end, but this is when you must keep your faith, you must believe that the bitterness will turn into the sweet fruit God has in store for you.
I look at every hardship in my life as a lesson, I know that it is hard for people to look at their hardships as lessons but if you want to grow you must examine them. You must see the bad things that happened in your life, happened for a reason. It is to teach you a lesson, it is to make you stronger and make your faith stronger. Each lesson you overcome lets you know that you are a survivor, it gives you wisdom to pass on to others. It is all a testimony for God's greatness.
There will always be good and bad in life, so why do you insist on sucking on the bitterness of your life? Instead of seeing the good? Why must you always amplify the bad?
Look I get it, sometimes life sucks. Maybe your marriage didn't work out, your business failed, your friends have hurt you or let you down. Maybe you've had so many hardships in life, like me, but yet you chose to be bitter, you chose to only see the bad and I always choose to see the good. Why is that?
See I can always find the good in every situation, you just need to look for it . Do you not see that you have other great friends, a good job, your health, so many wonderful blessings in your life? Yet you still hold on to and relive your past bitterness over and over in your head, totally blocking out all the good you have.
You take your garbage and dump it on others every day. You complain, you moan, you cry why me? Every day you are a toxic waste dump. Why can't you let it go? I know so many people like this, wasting their life in the past, holding on to it like a life raft. Always complaining about things that happened to them, I can't stand to talk to them as they suck the life out of me. You literally feel drained after being in their presence.
But you can change, if this is you, I am telling you, there is hope for you. How many times have I said it's a choice! You chose, choose to be happy, choose to be grateful, choose to leave your past in the past, choose to believe it will be turning around. Choose not to be bitter, to be petty. Choose to look at the lessons and become a better person. Your journey in life is not a difficult one, unless you make it that way.
Look we all have problems, we've all made stupid mistakes. Hello?? Have you read my blogs? I am the Queen of stupid mistakes! But it's okay, we all do this, what you need to do next is to own your mess, realize your lessons, then give it to God and let it go.
Don't get embarrassed, we all have done stupid things, we all have failed, picked the wrong person, trusted someone we shouldn't have, we've all been there. The lesson is telling others your story, it's about talking about your failures so that you may help others. Let them know that your hardships and troubles don't last, that you've made it and they can too.
Let them know that yes, there might be a horrible storm out there right now, and yes, you know that they are barely holding on. Give them encouragement, tell them your story, show them what faith looks like and tell them how the rainbow looks when the storm is over. Take your troubles and be a lighthouse for them, to help them get to a safe port.
It is then when you will know that all you went through was not for nothing, it will be then, you will know your true purpose.
So today my friends, I am here to tell you to blend those lemons with the sweet fruit God has given to you and count your blessings not your bitterness then taste how good faith is!
"Be the change you want to see"
"And just when the caterpillar thought his life over...he turned into a beautiful butterfly"
