My life...my girls
My life...my girls
Recently as I was sitting on a plane, going home yet again to see my family, I thought about how blessed I was to have my girls with me. Even though it was for my cousin's funeral, at least we were all together.
See God blessed me with two incredible daughters and one "adopted" daughter and they are the best things in my life!
We laugh together, we cry together, we fight...a lot...but at the end of the day we are family and we know we have each other's back!
During the divorce things got bad for all of us. Things were changing, there was fights and the tension in the house was off the charts. For a while afterwards I almost thought I might have lost my little one but I was determined not to talk bad about their father and to try to put back the pieces with them. I wanted them to know that even though we weren't together anymore we both still loved them.
I remember one of our first trips back home after I got separated from their dad, was the best. We winged it, where we were staying, what we were doing, how long we were staying, all of it.
For so many years with their dad everything was so calculated, always planned but this was totally not the same. They got to see me truly happy and in my element with my friends, who my ex never liked or wanted to hang out with.
They saw that I was at peace and filled with joy and that may have been the change in them. We started a new dimension to our relationship then.
Now we have this easy, laid back vibe between us...yes, we still fight occasionally but hey there is a lot of hormones in one house.
We have all been through a lot, they have lost friends, we all have had boyfriend issues, hard times and we all had had our own personal issues we delt with.
But they know I would put down my life for them. They know they are my world and I would blow off anyone to spend time with them.
They know I do all that I do because of them. Yes, I have been blessed with 3 amazing, beautiful, smart, funny girls and I can't wait to make some more memories with them.
So today my friends, remember life is short, take time out to spend with your children, one day they will be gone and you will be alone. This is the most important thing in your life, family... it's about the memories...the laughs...the time spent together doing everything or nothing at all...this is what they will remember...this is what life is all about...this is my life...my girls.
