The church is still alive
Sometimes the storm comes to destroy any ounce of faith in our lives. Sometimes we don't think we can make it out, that we can't hold on, because the storm is too bad.
So what do you do in a crisis like this? Do you walk away from your faith or do you anchor yourself in your faith?
A storm will bring the best out of you, it will develop character in you.
A stone will cause you to pray more.
A storm will cause you to trust God.
A current storm will help you get through future storms.
"A storm came and overcame the boat and the disciples woke Jesus and said "We are going to die" and he said "Ye of little faith, do you not trust me?"
Even though you may feel like God is not there or he is not listening, please know that he is there, that he's got you.
You need to go to God when the storm comes, but don't you ever jump ship! Hang on to your faith.
Even though we cannot go to church, even though it's Palm Sunday, and we may be sad that we are not there.
We need to ask this question, who is the church? When the whole world seems to be collapsing,we need to know who is the church?
The church is made up of those that are forgiving, because you are the church.
If you take the word of God to others, no matter in which way, then you are the church. We have a message of hope, it is a message that Jesus is a savior, and that the church will always be alive. Nothing can take the church, because you are the church, it is not the building, not an organization, it is all of us that are believers, that we hold on to.
Even though your security has been challenged, you have hope, you still have faith, do not panic and be fearful. Do not get frustrated and discouraged, do not lose hope, because if God has bailed you out before,you know that he will do it again.
We need to remember that if God is for you, then who can be against you? That no matter what comes at you, that we know that God has us, even though the worst storm.
I know that I have been through many storms, dark nights when I thought I couldn't make it. Nights when I got down on my knees and begged for his help, knowing that I could never do this without his help. When I cried out in the middle of the night because the pain was so intense.
He was there for me and he is there for you. He supplies all of my needs, he gives me hope when I have none. He blessed me when I was not worthy of his blessings, he forgave me when I wasn't a good "Christian"
Yet through it all, he continues to give me strength, he continues to give me hope, and I know that I don't need a church to tell me to believe because I am the church.
We need to share our faith, we need to speak God's word to those who need a word of faith. We need to testify what he does for us, how he gives us peace in the midst of the storm.
Let us celebrate that our hope is based on Jesus, not the media, not the politicians, not social media or the likes or money. Let us know that our hope is in the Lord, now always and forever.
Never forget that we are the church and the church is still alive.
