You can let your thoughts confined you or define you

You are as you think... The secret.... The law of attraction,The bible, picks up any book nowadays and the message is the same.

It's all about how you think, If you think you can't do it, you won't. If you think your situation will never change, it won't. You don't have a shot in hell, you are already doomed before you even begin with that attitude.

I stayed in an verbally abusive marriage for twenty four years because he said over and over that I could never make it on my own. He used to say look how he found me and look at the life I had now, the one he had given to me.

(Btw, he found me with my own hair salon, my own house and a brand new car, and traveling all over the world, not living under a bridge like he would have you and I believe!) 

But after hearing that for so long, I believed it, I became it. I never thought I was strong enough to leave, until I started believing I was. See thoughts become things. Yes, your thoughts are that strong, they are that powerful.

I knew I had to change that situation so I started to read self help books, as many as I could get my hands on. I did things that made me stronger, I told myself I loved myself, I posted sticky notes around to inspire me. I changed my thoughts and I changed the course of my life. I did that! And you can too.

Do you think six years ago that I thought I could do a triathlon? That I could buy this house? Start this business? Hell no! But I did and I placed 3rd in my age group and I did all I set out to do.

Now my thoughts say anything is possible! I will do this, I will be a New York Times bestseller author! These are now the thoughts that define me... that nothing is impossible! I can do anything!

I tell myself each and every day that I am a strong, confident, independent, beautiful woman. I am the same one I used to be but better now because I am wiser and stronger.

I know who I am and what I will and will not put with. I now know that I can't make anyone happy, they have to do that for themselves. I have to do me and now I know that I can be the best me ever.

Just like with all that's going on today, with all the gloom and doom around us I am saying I will do this, I will be okay, I will come out of this stronger and wiser. I am willing to look deep for the lessons that we are all supposed to learn and I will find them and use this pandemic to become a better person.

What are you telling yourself during these times? That you won't make it? That this will break you financially or emotionally? That this sucks and so you're wasting your time watching Netflix? What are you doing to better yourself? Are you spending this time doing quality things with your family? Are you reflecting on what you can change? Doing things to help yourself become calmer, more grounded? Or are you just bitching and moaning? Not even trying to see the lesson?

It is up to you, like the good witch told Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz 

"You have always had the power inside of you"  Yes, it has always been up to you.

 

So today my friends I leave you with this thought...it's up to you, you can either let your thoughts confine you or define you, the choice is yours...which one do you choose?

Remember to choose wisely.
