Wishing death on another 

So with #45 in the hospital this last week I've read a lot of horrible things on social media. Now if you follow me you know I am not a fan of him, in fact I refuse to call him by his appointed name, only ever calling him #45. Because to me that name, Mr. President is reserved for a man you respect and since he respects no one, I cannot give him that respect. Sorry I was raised with, you get respect when you give it.

So when I saw so many people wishing him death it bothered me, look I know that many people wished karma and I wholeheartedly believe in karma. You know you reap what you sow and all that but to actually wish death, well that's a whole other thing.

I remember the lesson I learned when I had been in church for a while. I had already been divorced and starting my new life. I remember my Bishop telling us to pray for others, even our enemies, even for your ex's. I'm thinking, oh yeah I am praying… that he gets hit by a truck! Okay I know not Christian, so sue me, I'm human! 

That no good SOB, who still had everything and I am working 3 jobs, you better trust and believe I'm praying for him….

But he was talking about praying for them to change, to learn their lessons, to find God and change their ways. That we as Christians need to pray for them, the non believers, the sinners, the people that hurt us. It is not our job to judge them but love them.

This was a hard one for me, for months I struggled with it. I did not want to pray for him, let's be honest I couldn't stand him! But I thought what if I prayed that he would change his ways, that he would learn to control his anger and his tongue. If I prayed that he would become a better father to my girls, so that they wouldn't be hurt by his words anymore and because I am a good student of my Bishop I decided to start. It wasn't easy I'm going to tell you, as every once in a while I was still thinking about that truck. What?? I really liked that one..

But I kept at it and I then added Mr. ConArtist to the mix, so he would stop hurting others with his behavior, so that he would learn his lessons. I then prayed for my "wifey" who was my best friend who screwed me out of a lot of money and left me without air in August, in Florida because of it. I prayed she would get clean, that she would own the shit that she did to me and the others who loved and trusted her. I started praying for anyone who did me wrong because I could not keep on being angry and hurt. I already learned to forgive them now I needed to let go of the hurt, I needed to pray for them and move on.

I don't like them, and I would never allow them to hurt me again but I would never wish death on them, any of them.

Look we've all been hurt, we all have stories of betrayal and heartache but we need to get past them. Forgiveness has to do with us not them, it is so we can move on, knowing that there is eventually karma to fight our battles. That one day every one of us will have to answer for our behavior, but in the here and now we need to worry about our own behavior and not everyone else's.

So today my friends, my message to you is to forgive, to move on, to not hate or wish for harm or death on anyone else. 

Worry about healing your wounds, by focusing on forgiveness for you not them. Worry about what you do and how your actions affect others. Worry about becoming the best person you can be because don't ever forget that karma works both ways. 

So let's try to be the best person we can be and keep it moving and maybe one day if we are lucky enough we may get a front row seat to karma.
