Long time Friends
Long time friends
So this week, I've been writing about being blessed and having gratitude. And there is not more than I am grateful for or feel more blessed about than my long-time friends.
I go home every year to see them. But not just that, I speak to them all the time throughout the year. In fact, as I sat on the beach this weekend, I was in three conversations at one time with them.
These are friends that I have had since grade school, and of course, some I picked up along the way through life. And yet, as I get more friends, I seem to bring people together. I have brought others into our group of friends, and they have made close friendships as well.
These are friends who know everything about me, when I was at my lowest and when I was going through my best times. These are the people I love and trust with my life. These are friends I played hide and seek with, learned to drive a car with, and talked about my first kiss, my first love, and first heartbreak.
These are the memories that I will take to my grave, remembering the good times we had. I tell you all the time, when it's the end, you won't be thinking that you should have worked more or made more money. You'll be thinking that I wished I lived my life more, made more memories with the people you loved.
So I never take these friendships for granted. I cherish them every day. I let them know how much I love them every time I speak to them. My life wouldn't be the same without them.
So today, my friends, my message is never to take your friendships for granted. There is nothing better in life than a friend who knows you forever and still loves you. Who will accept you for who you are and forgive your mistakes. These, my friends, are lifelong friends, and I am so blessed for them.
